Using an active cable such as the Luxe, how long can you go from the source to the tv and still achieve strong signal? Other splitters are capped off at certain feet but that isn't listed here.

I have a 45 foot long active HDMI cable feeding a projector. I would like to put this splitter at the end of the active cable and then feed two projectors. Only one projector would be turned on at a time. One would be used for gaming while the other would be used for movies. The HDMI cables from the splitter to the projectors would be as short as 2 feet. Would this splitter work with this setup?

Can it output one at HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 and the other at HDMI 1.4? That would allow me to split my HD audio to my receiver without needing a whole new one!

on May 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. HDMI splitters will choose the HDMI spec that both displays will support then will output that. So in your setup it will default to the 1.4 HDMI spec. It would be best to use an HDMI audio extractor or use the audio output of your TV if it has one.

This reply says it "will choose the HDMI spec that both displays will support then will output that." But another reply from the same replier dated May 24, 2017 says "the splitter will detect the EDID information of the first display connected to it then split that. You would want to be sure that you are splitting a signal that both displays will support." These seem contradictory or an attempt to obfuscate the limitations of this splitter. So the critical broader question that you should be answering (and why there aren't tables in the product listing for listing the action in the various combinations) is how the splitter reports itself to the source device when the 2 output devices are different AND very importantly WHEN? Requiring you to power up output devices in order of least capable first as implied by the May 24th, 2017 seems to be a showstopper for many applications.

what is the maximum distance between the splitter and the tv?
Christian H
on Jun 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The max distance will depend on the HDMI cables being used. Should you require to use longer than 25ft cables, you would want to use an Active HDMI cable. Such as our Luxe or Cabernet Ultra Active HDMI cables. Just be sure to have the "Display" or "TV" labeled end of the active cable connected directly to the TV.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This splitter will support HDMI 2.0 signals. Once it receives the signal it will output it to your compatible display. Keep in mind that the splitter will detect the EDID information of the first display connected to it then split that. You could try using a different USB cables and wall chargers.
If they are capable of passing at least 5V, 2A power adapters there would not be a problem.

Will I be able to split an HDMI 2.0a signal from a 4K Apple TV (the new one) into 2 identical outputs...1 going to a new 4K HDR LG OLED TV (HDR10 and DolbyHDR) and 1 going to a new OPPO 205 HDMI input, and keep all the information put out by the Apple TV to both devices? Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: Hi Shopper,
Ultimately it will depend on how the OPPO 205 is configured. HDMI splitters will read the EDID information from both sink devices and output in a format that is common among both. Normally connecting a splitter to a Display and an AVR will not have the results users are looking for.
I would say that in this case, it would not work unless the OPPO 205 is capable of manipulating EDID to trick the splitter into thinking that it is an HDCP 2.2 device capable of supporting 4K HDR. Unfortunately, i know that OPPO is no longer around, but OPPO would be the best place to find out if a switch would work with their unit.

The Panasonic DP-UB820 has two HDMI outputs. One of which is for audio - I'll be using that to send audio to an older Marantz SR7005. The primary output of the Panasonic DP-UB820 sends full HDR10 and Dolbly Vision along with full audio of any 4k disc.
Concern 1-- Will this split that stream to send to a projector and a Hisense H9G TV that both support HDR10 and Dolbly Vision. I also want audio to be sent to the TV, but the projector doesn't have audio so that's not a concern for me. Will this product work in this scenario?
Concern 2-- The projector is connected via a Monoprice 50' active 18gbps HDMI. Will this product cause any problems with that length of an active HDMI 2.0 cable?

When it works, its great...
This does everything I need it too. I split a DirecTv signal HDMI feed into 2 and send the 2 HDMI outs to a pair of Samsung NU8100 series TVs in 75 and 55 behind my bar. About once a week, I have to pull the power source briefly and let it reset and then its fine for awhile. Luckily my 75 is on an adjustable tv mount I can pull out and push back into place in order to do this. It would be a 5 star if it didnt have this issue.

Does exactly what it claims to do
Works fine, allows connecting computer monitor and big-screen projector to receive the same video signal at the same time... or allows you to use any two other video displays at the same time (same video content on both displays).

Works as advertised
These truly support 4K HDR 18Gbps. Trust the models with the Blackbird branding from Monoprice, they work with what they are advertised for. Anything else, YMMV.

Works with no problems.
Input is 25-foot HDMI cable from a receiver. Outputs are 3-foot cables to two 4K projectors. Works perfectly.

Works pretty good, runs very hot
I needed to split a 4k signal to my tv and the HDMI sound out to my non 4k AV receive. This does the job just fine, though is a little harder to set up because you cant designate primary output for video. So I had to install it to the TV first without the sound and then install the hdmi for the sound to finally get it to function for 4k to the TV. Overall though its good.
