I was able to use this to hook up my DVI monitor to my Mac Mini. The one slight issue is that this was a little wide and made things tight when I went to hookup something into the Mini Display port. I'm unable to hook anything up to the firewire port with this adapter but luckily I don't need firewire.
I use a lot of these for connecting old monitors to new computers (and vice versa). They work fine, and the price is right. This is one of the products I stock myself, so I always have them available in various lengths.
Works great as expected. I would recommend to others. The only potential issue is that if the HDMI port is too close to other cables, it might be too tight of a fit to have all the cables plug into the computer.
This adapter works well so far and is inexpensive, like all my Monoprice purchases. For that reason, I would recommend it. But beware that it can potentially block adjacent ports on smaller devices like laptops. This isn't necessarily a flaw, as it's a physical limitation of hardware size, but consider getting a DVI-to-HDMI cable instead if you think it might block necessary ports.
