BEST ANSWER: It should work with any phone that uses the USB-C connector. Its main purpose is to allow you to use existing chargers that have a USB Micro-B male plug. It probably won't charge the phone at the rapid rate. I use several of these to work with my Galaxy S8+. I have used Monoprice products for quite a few years and their quality is top notch.

No, I don't think so, because the USB-A male plug will not fit a USB Micro B socket. I believe you will need a USB-C Male to USB-A female adapter. I happen to have one of those; the Monoprice ID number for it is 13507.

I have only used these to carry power to my cell phones from older usb cables. The adapter is perfect for that. I have not tried to use it for data. But for $5.00 I think it would be worth trying.

I never see data transfer speeds mentioned with these micro-to-C adapters. Is that because data-transfer spec is for the cable itself and not the adapter? So if I have a USB3.0 cable to use with this adapter, the adapter will provide the full 5Gbps?

BEST ANSWER: This is limited to USB 2.0 speeds of 480 Mbps, because the Micro B USB 2.0 connector on this adapter cannot physically accept the much larger connector necessary for USB 3.0. That is why speeds are not specified for this, because the Micro B here is USB 2.0 only, and the kind of Type C connection makes no difference.

The jack on this adapter is USB 2.0 Micro-B (USB 3.0 Micro-B has an extra "hump") so it would be limited to USB 2.0 speeds (I think 480Mb/s across the wire?).

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will connect... The trick is if your USB outlet in your car is putting out enough power. Safer bet to use 12v outlet adapter with proper rating for iphone.
