There isn't an on/off switch. After inserting the usb dangle into my computer's usb port it automatically became functional. If your batteries are installed correctly that should work for you. Hope this helps.

It is always "on," but it doesn't seem to burn battery power until you start pressing the keys. My battery lasts a very long time, so I know it is not being drained when the keyboard is not in actual use.

It doesn't have a switch. When the battery is inserted, it is "on." Of course, you have to plug the tiny receiver into a USB port too.

is this keyboard compatible with mac os?
tiffany r
on Jan 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it will work and most keys will correspond 1:1. However the modifier keys will be slightly different. "Command" will map to the Windows key, while "Option" will map to the Alt key on the keyboard. The thing is the Windows and Alt keys have reversed locations compared to a Mac keyboard, but this can be switched in System Preference>Keyboard>Modifier Keys if needed.

Can you have multiple keyboards and dongles and have the 'correct' keyboard communicating with only it's dongle-mate? I'd like to use multiple of these products in my lab area, but only if they don't cross-talk (ie, keyboard 1 getting received by any other dongle besides dongle 1.)

Is there a wireless mouse that would be compatible with the dongle that comes with this keyboard? I have a Logitech wireless mouse (mice actually). I'd pick up this keyboard but I'd rather not have to use 2 separate dongles to control it and a mouse.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not initially user friendly. Need to locate manual.
Keyboard did not arrive with instructions. It had 2 batteries and a small plug in device. No visible slots to plug in device. Wait. The device may go into a computer slot?? I have had it for about a month. I have not used it yet. I will update if I get it working.

insanely frustrating
If it worked consistently it would be 5 stars, especially considering the price. But it doesn't work consistently. Most of the time, it's laggy, skipping and/or repeating keys, and just a huge headache. Having the same problems as all the other negative reviews.I read Chris L's review and was hopeful that plugging the dongle into a different port would help, but I've tried all 4 ports available to me and it makes no difference. Maybe it's because they're all USB3, and it was only USB2 that worked for him, but I don't have any USB2 ports to try it with so I don't know.

Response from Monoprice
Hi, sorry to hear about the issue you encountered. It sounds like your USB 3.0 ports are causing interference to the 2.4Ghz wireless signal. Unfortunately USB 3.0 tends to cause this, especially if used for high speed data like for hard drives or flash drives. You can try if separating your high speed data peripherals from the USB dongle might work, or try positioning the wireless dongle as close to the keyboard as possible. If you have a USB extension cable, you could try using that to place your dongle away from your USB 3.0 ports or devices. However it's possible that there is insufficient shielding or too much RF interference from your USB 3.0 ports, in which case wireless solutions would be problematic and wired peripherals might be better. Hope this helps and sorry there's no easier solution.
