does it have phono input ?

BEST ANSWER: No. There is no dedicated turntable input, but there are four pairs of RCA jacks. Depending on the output on your turntable, you may need a phono preamp.

Does the 12 5/8-inch depth include the volume knob and any protrusions on the back panel? This unit would be going on a 12 3/4-inch shelf. I need the front footers to remain on the shelf and allow a little clearance in the back of the unit for making connections. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: From the back of the cabinet to the front edge of the front feet is 10.5". The entire unit is a little over 11" minus the knob. So, a 12 3/4" shelf would allow 1" behind for connections and the knob will sick out approximately 1/4-1/2" past the shelf face.

I have in wall speakers through out my house and am wondering if this Yamaha R-S202BL would be good paired with a 6-CHANNEL SPEAKER SELECTOR for music, or if I should keep my Home Theater AVR hooked up and purchase another Home Theater AVR for our main TV room ?

If you want a good receiver that has Bluetooth pairing for a music only system, then this is an awesome product.

If i have line level signals going into this receiver, am i limited to the type of speakers i can connect (only speakers that receive RCA/line out)? Or am i able to have the line level RCA's going in, and then have speakers connected to this receiver?

BEST ANSWER: This receiver has a two channel (Left & Right) power amplification rated at 100 watts. What you seem to be describing as a speaker with an RCA input sounds like a "powered" speaker having its own built-in power amplifier. Connecting that to this receiver would defeat the purpose of having this receiver. This receiver's L/R outputs are designed to drive "passive" speakers directly that are rated at 4, 8 or 16 ohms.

Good morning. I would like to put a wireless speaker in a room away from the receiver. Can I do this by using either the A or B speaker selection and a Bluetooth speaker? Is this receiver capable of handling surround sound?
A shopper
on Nov 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is a stereo (2 channel) receiver. Not meant for home theater. The Bluetooth option is a built in input within the receiver. If you wanted to add speakers in another room, you'd have to run speaker wires to standard passive speakers. The internal Bluetooth in the receiver is only meant to pair with a source like a cell phone to stream audio to the receiver. Hope this helps.

BEST ANSWER: The Full Specs section of the product page shows this model is stable down to 2Ω so you can rock your heart out with both of your Vegas \m/ !!! Your speakers will put a 4Ω load to the amp. The 4Ω rating is 165W per channel so you'll get about 82.5W per speaker. Share some Back in Black with your neighbors for me 'cause I like to party too.

BEST ANSWER: I don’t know what it is. It is not USB port. I didn’t want to dismantle my system to pull it out and see what it is clearly. It looks like there is a white plastic clip inside it but don’t think that it has anything to do with input or output.

Excellent replacement for my old tired Radio Shack Receiver. The FM receiver is much more sensitive than my old one, so that a minimal wire antenna is all that is needed.

So Far So Very Good
Replaced an old Onkyo receiver and Radio Shack switch box with these. They are working well together. Using them to operate 4 pairs of speakers in different locations around the property. Have three inputs connected: CD, turntable, and iTunes from desktop computer. In my very novice opinion, I believe the "impedance protection" circuitry in the selection box is important to this set-up.

Excellent Office System
This receiver replaced an inexpensive 'computer speaker' system. It is connected to the Monoprice BGM sub & satellite system with the subwoofer in the corner of my office and the one pair of satellites flanking each side of my dual computer monitors (second set of satellites not connected). An alternate music source is the SONY 50-disc CD changer for a variety of music during the working hours.

Problem Solved
The fine old tuner this unit replaced drove my stereo speakers just fine, but walking up to the unit to adjust the volume or switch between the tuner, a TV, and an Echo Dot was a real hassle. The R-S202BL nicely solved that problem. The included remote makes all such adjustments a snap.

What I was expecting
This receiver does the trick for what I was expecting. I needed something inexpensive that I could use for TV, Record Player, CD Changer, etc. to replace an old Sony I had from the 90s. There is nothing fancy about this unit, and I wish it had a little more bass presence, but overall I am happy with this for the price. The Bluetooth functionality is a nice extra.

Great Unit
I am very happy with this unit.
It sounds great and the bluetooth is a great feature. My wife uses it with Spotify and Pandora. I only use the unit for LPs and CDs. Sound quality is excellent across the board.
There are no RCA outputs for speakers. Everything is speaker wire but I found RCA to speaker wire adapter on Amazon for $8.00.
