This is an ice cooler. This is a great cooler that holds ice frozen for several days but it is only a cooler. There are no USB ports. Perhaps your question was intended for a different product.

Nope! And it's a two person job to move it if ya got it fullish. Best practice is to put it where ya want it and then fill it up. My pro tip is to use dry ice and then you don't have to drain it.

Can you use dry ice in this cooler?
A shopper
on Jun 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Probably but why? Here is my only experience with my new monoprice cooler. I put a 30 pack of beer, a like 40 pack of water, and a couple 8 packs of gatorate. BTW this cooler is huge and heavy. Unfortunately all my drinks were warm so i threw 20lbs of ice in the night before i was leaving. In the morning i drained the water and added more ice. I was initially a little disappointed because the next day it was low on ice again but the drinks were plenty cold. I added ice again and we spent 2 more days getting drinks from it. After i got home i left the cooler in the back of my suburban for 2-3 days before emptying it. So its been like 5 days since i added ice and it was still cold. It may be have left open for a while that first night or due to warm drinks or something. But this a very very good cooler and now finally getting back to your question. I think dry ice would just be too cold, frozen beer sucks.

While I don't know for sure, I don't see why not. The only possible issue would be that the plastic couldn't handle the extreme temperature from direct contact, so to eliminate that as a possibility, you could put something that wouldn't conduct the cold efficiently under the dry ice, a piece of wood is my first thought or even corrugated cardboard(since the ice is dry)

You also can't beat monoprice's life time warranty on them, even Yeti doesn't offer it!

Performance wise I'd say it should be similar. The finish on the plastic is the perfection you see with the name brands but that's just aesthetic. The lid hinge doesn't seem quite a sturdy as Yeti, but isn't by any means weak. For the price it's a good buy. I'd say the big name brands probably are slightly better than these coolers, but IMHO not worth more than 2X the price of these.

I've been shopping for the ultimate cooler and bought this at a steal. Here's my requirements that were carefully reviewed and analyzed:
*Prefer USA manufactured or even better USA materials plus manufactured here. This is made in China :(
*Thickest insulation possible, above 1.5" prefer 3" just cause I'm greedy
*Either a wicked color scheme or extremely light colored exterior. Personal flare vs better uv/heat dissipation.
*Larger than 20 liter/quart but none above 30. Just personal use for Corona bottles which would require enough interior height storage.
*LIFETIME WARRANTY a must, I plan on this being my last REAL cooler. Not interested in lesser offered warranties just out of rigidity concerns if a item costs more it should be better and better, just sayin.
*Bottle opener a must because I drink sealed bottle beer. If I'm opening the cooler I'm gonna open a brew-sky.....ALL with one hand!
*PRICE, PRICE, PRICE. Even if I had to buy 3 or 4 more of the product (hopefully not knock on wood), does it really need to be soooo expensive. It's not even powered cooling for Christs' sake lol. I could buy a refrigerator with freezer for the price a Yeti?!
*Bear Proof is a waste of time in my areas of activity, there are very very few that exist here and quite frankly if a bear wants in a plastic cooler just take a look at the discovery channel and you tell me. Ridiculously unnecessary and merely a sales gimmick of durability plastic vs bear....duh!
*Tie downs are definitely tactical. Most come with this unless they are cheap or really small in general.
*Prefer a drain plug I can screw directly into my garden hose for easy cleaning. Although, this cooler may be suspect to leakage and or breaking at the plug cap but I can easily fix that without voiding warranty. Buy a brass or copper garden hose thread cap with a nice rubber gasket, voila!
*Carry handles/bar must be extremely durable because of full capacity weight tolerance factor.
No bear worries if you eat it first ;)Peace

Is the material bpa free?
A shopper
on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: From what I know about bps's, and that's not much, the concerns about the plastic materials causing health issues is very minimal. Heating foods and consuming them from a container made from bpa's may pose the most risk. Even that has not been clearly proven.
If this cooler is made with materials that contain bpa's, I think the risk is near ZERO because your not eating food that's cooked in a cooler. I know people put fish in these that are caught and transported. I say that's not an issue. If a person uses the cooler as a cooler, I say don't worry, be happy!
I have the 80 liter cooler. It works fantastic. Buy it! You will love it!

Looking for a hanging basket for the Emperor 80, but the only basket that may fit it has been discontinued (Igloo 20071). Anyone find an alternative basket that fits? I was thinking of trying to the Yeti Tundra 250 basket, but it specs out at about 1/8" too long.... May just have to buy one and try it.

Has anyone used the warranty? How was process? Did you have to ship it back in? What was the cost? While the Lifetime Warranty sounds great, the cost of shipping something like this back in may not make it a feasible option

Base dimensions and Dry Basket that fits
For those who were asking in the q&a section, the outer dimensions of the base of the cooler are 19 1/8" wide by 29 1/8" long . I also can confirm (as another reviewer mentioned) that the Blue Coolers Dry Basket for 100/110 Quart Coolers fits this PERFECTLY and slides side to side like it was made for the Emperor 80! $25 accessory and they delivered quickly to make this the perfect cooler!

Compatible Wire Basket
The Blue Coolers Accessory - Dry Basket for 100/110 Quart Ark Series Coolers (Version 3.0) is a perfect fit for the Monoprice Emperor 80 cooler. I?ve purchased and returned numerous wire baskets made for other rotomolded cooler manufactures. These Blue Coolers 100/110 Quart Ark Series Coolers have almost identical interior dimensions.
And Yes!! the Monoprice Emperor 80 cooler is a great rotomolded cooler for the money!!!

Professionally Designed
Everything about this cooler shows well thought out design. It is very durable and will hold your food warm or cold for a long time. Thus it is a bit heavy for a good reason. You will not be disappointed for the investment in a keepsake.

Apparent Disposable Cooler
While I was (an am) overall fairly happy with the performance of the Pure Outdoor line of coolers, I am very dissatisfied that there are literally ZERO replacement options. I lost the drain cap and it is a very odd size M24x2. There are literally no options to replace it and Monoprice does not have replacements for any of the working parts. So expect to get a couple years used until a strap breaks or your drain cap gets misplaced as it is not attached in anyway. Then be prepared to recycle it. I found a MUCH better option in coolers. Look up Kong Coolers.

Cooler is well made and works as well as the more expensive brands at keeping food cold. But rubber straps seem to be a week point.
Does a good job of keeping things cold for a long time. However, third time I used it in less than a year one of the rubber strips broke. Simple thing wound go send a replacement strap. NOPE!!! Have to return the entire cooler to get this problem fixed.

Great for the price!
Kept ice for 3-4 days, items inside cold for 7+ and we had a lot of opening/closing of the cooler. 95+ degree days for the entire period.

High performing big boy!
Very high performing. Retains ice very well! Only downfall is the size and weight of this beast. Definitely need to bring a spotter with you after filling these with ice and beverages/food. I made the investment in a Cooler Cart Wheel Kit from Calcuttaoutdoors.com to help move this monster around.

Awesome Cooler!!!
Loaded the cooler full of drinks and ice and after 6 hot days in the bed of my pick up and still had 50% of the ice left.
I have the 25, 50 and now the 80 and could not be happier.
