BEST ANSWER: This works with my 3rd Generation iPad Pro (the model with a USB-C port). It carries video and audio to my TV perfectly. (I have no idea why Android users are answering questions about Apple products. They obviously don't know what they're talking about.)

I'm not an Apple person, I'm Android, so I cannot give a definitive answer. However, one side of this adapter is UBS-C which is an Android standard. I don't believe Apple is compatable with USB-C but I could be wrong.

Small correction written a year after Gary B’s answer: Most Apple computers use USB-C (laptops for quite some time). As of March 2019, only the iPad Pro uses USB-C (the other portable devices use Lightning). Since the original question only specified “Apple products,” this is to clarify that they vary by type.
Not sure about Apple, but it did not work with my Android phone or tablet. It did work with a friend's laptop that had USB-C port, so I gave it to him.

I want to put this adapter next to my TV and my laptop in the middle of the room. Will I be able to charge my computer and mirror the laptop screen on the TV (HDMI) if I plug the USB-C male connector into a power supply and then connect my laptop with a longer USB-C male to male cable?

BEST ANSWER: I am using this to mirror my laptop to a monitor and charge it from the same port. You'll have to connect the male end of the adapter to your laptop, then connect the male end of the power supply to the female port on the adapter. You probably can but I think you would need a female to male. If it was me I would buy a wireless keyboard and mouse and leave the Laptop next to the TV. This way you don't have wires to trip over.

I don't know. I bought it to connect my macbook pro to TV's and projectors. If your phone's USB-C outputs video and sound then it should work. You need to look up your phone's specifications to be sure. Hope this helps, George in NJ

I only have Type A USB 3.0 ports on the computer I'd like to use this with. Can you plug the USB-C port into an adapter into the 3.0 port and still get video? Thanks!

Does this adapter have the same Wifi issue as the Select Series USB-C HDMI Multiport (USB-C to HDMI, USB-C (F), USB-A (F)) where the 2.4 Ghz band is blocked?

BEST ANSWER: Apologies for not giving a true answer but I found the question intesting. I am using the adapter on 2.4 but do have problems, the HDMI works but whenever the computer goes to sleep I have to unplug the adapter from the computer and plug it in again to recognize the monitor. The USB-C never worked so I thought it was defective. It was so cheap that not worth my time to RMA. I do have 5.0 Ghz so will try that but am on vacation for a week.

BEST ANSWER: I purchased this for that exact reason and the switch didn't even register it as a device. But when I put a usb c cable in to charge the switch and joycons without this adapter it worked just fine.

So i bought alot of ucb c to hdmi adapters for my late 2016 MBP but none of them worked. Is this tested with new MBP and this comes with guarantee ?

BEST ANSWER: Hard to tell. While these are hardware converters and should work in all instances, they might not work. They work for me when plugged directly into the computer. Howver, they did not work with a hub in between.

Is this HDCP compliant ? I want to use it to connect my galaxy s8 to my tv in my rv to watch hbo and netflix I tried several other cables and got an HDCP error has anyone tried this with this adapter ?

is this device compatible with windows 10? If so how do I enable my external display? As i connect the device to my USBc port, I hear the usb ding sound, but i dont see the device in device manager or in display properties.. what gives?

BEST ANSWER: I'm using this on a Lenovo P52s running Windows 10 Pro and it works perfect. Windows detects the monitor automatically and the display settings just needed to be set to extend to the monitor.
If you are using this for a second external monitor on a laptop you may run into issues. For the P52s it needs to be plugged in to the port for. the docking station or else only one external monitor is detected.

Great dongle, particularly if you have an UHD tv
The product description states UHD@30Hz (3840x2160), but I'd swear that using this with my Lenovo Chromebook (Ideapad 5), I've sent 2160@60Hz, and 1080p@120Hz, to my LG C2 TV!
