To my knowledge, it should fit, but, that is determined whether the Galaxy S8 has a standard USB A receptacle. My old Samsung did.. I have an iPhone now so I'm not up with the Saamsungs.

BEST ANSWER: I use this cable for power and data connections to my Galaxy S8 and have started getting errors when trying to charge my device. I'll have to disconnect and reconnect the cable several times to not get a "check your charging cable connection" error.

It will work for data transfers and standard charging. If you want power delivery fast charging you will need to use a USB C to USB C cable.

What is the wire gauge is on this cable? The Select Series cable lists wire gauge on the Full Specs tab, but this product does not have that tab.

I just bought a Motorola Z3 Play cell phone and I was wondering if this cable would work for it. Need an extra cable for it, for my USB charger that is in my car. The cable is a USB female on one end and a female USB-C connector on the other end.

good quality for the price
So far, the build quality of these cables is impressive for this price. We have not had them long, but so far they work, and we appreciate the solid feel of them. We look forward to a long life (and we're grateful for the lifetime guarantee at Monoprice). Thanks again, Monoprice!

Cables are good/connectors are terrible
I like the build quality of the cables but the connectors will not stay in the phone.
Glad I only bought two. Wish I could return but but probably not worth my time and money.

great charge and data cable
As with other cables I have ordered from Monoprice these look good and work great. I recent bought a new smart phone and wanted a spare charge cable. This one fit the bill perfectly. I am very pleased. I do highly recommend these.
