Micro B USB end will be 10.4mm wide, 6.1mm thick, and 17.1mm long
USB A end will be 14.5mm wide, 7.1mm thick, and 16mm long.

Is the connector head size of the micro-usb side thicker than the Premium USB to Micro USB cable (which is 0.25" (6.3 mm) ?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it's a bit thicker than the premium USB head. I don't have exact measurements, though.

BEST ANSWER: No. The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and S9 use a C type charging cable, not a micro B.

Not a complaint but just a question: how come these lightning charger cables cost so much more than Micro-USB charge cables? Correct me if I'm wrong, but these "Select Series" lightning cables appear to be the Apple-compatible equivalent counterpart to the "Select Series" Micro-USB charger cables for Android. Why is it that these cables are 4x the cost of micro USB charger cables? Are they simply more costly to manufacture?

BEST ANSWER: I believe that Apple charges a licensing fee and requires specific electronics for it to be a legit lightning cable. Micro USB is an open standard and has no licensing costs.
Since Apple makes money on any certified lightning product, they have no motivation to switch over to a universal standard such as USB C.

Exactly right for Sony RX100 camera
These cables fit my RX100vi perfectly - some micro B USB cables do not. The cables evidently have a lower (=bigger) wire gauge than some others, allowing faster charging. But note that these cables do not fit an older Samsung tablet with a micro B USB port. It almost seems like there are two different standards used for these connectors.
I am glad that virtually all new portable devices use USB C connectors. I have not come across any physical incompatibility between any of the USB C connectors or cables.

I have had no problems with anything I bought thru Monoprice.. Four to five day transit time from Atlanta to Alabama is not worth the wait, Sorry but it's time to move on to another supplier.

Cable is fine but mail delivery is disappointing
Wire is as it said in description. But delivery took almost a month from CA to NY. Too long waiting for this item. They need to work on speed. Other companies deliver in short time.

Work well with BBC micro:bit
I am using these USB cables for workshops with the BBC micro:bit. It's nice to have 3' cable and these come in nice bright colors that make it easy to collect them at the end of the workshop. I've only done one workshop with the so far and they worked fine. They are thinner than many other USB cables so I'm not sure how well they will last but they are very affordable (important for educators).
