Please, could you let me know if this adapter supports charging from the USB-C charger into a Micro USB device? Thank you so much.

BEST ANSWER: I use it in the other direction for charging my phone in rental cars that only offer USB-A out power outlets. Since there is no indication of a diode limiting direction, It should work the other way.

However, it is a USB-A to USB-C connector, not micro USB to USB-C. So, you would still need a micro to USB-A cable.

Are the USB-C ports on a new MacBook Air far enough apart to use two of these at the same time? I'm trying to decide if there's any reason to get two.
Jonathan F
on Mar 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, these adapters are too wide, since USB-A/B is too wide, to use two at a time, at least on my 13", 2017 MacBookPro. I've used one while a regular USB-C cable was plugged into the other port. There's just enough room for that.
Otherwise, I like these tiny adapters.

Monoprice USB-A to USB-C Adapters fit side by side in a new 13" MacBook Pro. MacBook Air appears to have the similar port configuration so I would assume they will also fit side by side in an Air also.

Unfortunately you can't, because these adapters flare at the back. You can get one of these and another straight edge adapter next to each other, but you can't get two MP adapters next to each other..

Correct. It’s pretty tight. You can use one of these adapters in conjunction with another with a short cord (like the Apple original)

Can this USB-A adapter be used to convert the USB-C plug on a USB ethernet hub to USB-A to plug it into a computer that has no USB-C ports, only USB-A? Will everything still work correctly, including power passthrough?
Michael D
on Apr 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: If I understand your question correctly, I don't think the adapter would even fit. This adapter has a male USB-C end and a female USB-A end - if your computer has only USB-A ports, very likely they are female USB-A ports, so this adapter wouldn't connect to those. You would need an adapter that has a male USB-A connector on one end.

This should work. The adapter is wired to convert the signals from USB-C to USB-A. The fact the USB-C plug is on an ethernet hub should make no difference.

No. It converts A to C not C to A. For computers with USB-C ports so you can plug USB-A in

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Should your LG G5 support USB devices to be connected to it via an adapter it should work no problem. I would recommend reaching out to LG regarding the G5's support for USB adapters.

What speed is the adapter rated for, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 or USB 3.1? The description says that it supports USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices but USB 3.0 devices are backwards compatible with USB 2.0, working at USB 2.0's slower speed.
Does this fully support USB 3.0 or 3.1 devices at full speed?

BEST ANSWER: As noted by the blue connector on the USB-A side, this is at least USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1/USB 3.2 Gen 1x1) speeds, and is likely to support USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB 3.2 Gen 2x1) full speeds with compliant devices and hosts.

Will this work with my new imac that has usb 3 and thunderbolt ports? I want to connect my older Western Digital My Passport for use in Time Capsule. My Passport cable has Micro B connector and the other end of the cable is a type A ( which would connect to my old 2013 imac ). Hoping I can plug the C adapter into imac port and then connect My Passport using it's original cable and connecting the type A male into this adapter.

Simple solution
Works as described. Allows me to use legacy USB devices like an old keyboard with my new Macbook Pro (2021). Smaller than a traditional dongle.

Impulse purchase I now regret
I added this to my shopping cart at the last moment thinking ?oh that?ll be useful.? I hadn?t thought it through. I have lots of USB A to Lightening cables. This adapter requires a cable with a male USB A connector at each end. I don?t have a single one of those cables. I?m not gonna buy one just to utilize this adapter. Therefore, I haven?t used it and can?t tell you if it works great or not. Good luck.
