BEST ANSWER: No. Your source has to be display port and monitor or HDTV should have HDMI. That's what the description says.

BEST ANSWER: Probably China, like most inexpensive products. I have not seen any "Made in X" stickers on my last shipment of cables--but they serve the purpose.

Prompt delivery and cable works as expected
Ordered this cable since I don't have an HDMI port on my laptop and wanted to connect my laptop to a 32" TV as a work monitor. The Display Port to HDMI cable works great in connecting my laptop to my HDTV.
