I'm looking for a 25' run between a Denon receiver and an Espon LS 11000 projector. Between these two Monoprice HDMI cable options, is one better suited for that use (or has better performance)? I recognize a 25' run isn't ideal, but am looking for recommendations.

Monoprice 4K High Speed HDMI Cable - 4K@60Hz, 18Gbps, HDR, CL2 In-Wall Rated, Active, 25ft, Black
Monoprice 4K Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable - 4K60Hz, 18Gbps, HDR, CL Rated, 25ft, Black
BEST ANSWER: I didn't do a comparison however I am pleased with the performance of the 4K Certified Premium High Speed HDMI Cable 25ft. I bought 3 of these to run from the TCL 65" 4K TV above the fireplace, inside the wall, under the basement floor, and up through the family room floor. One connects to the Comcast cable TV transmitter and one to the LG Blu-ray player. The third is a spare for the future. More than adequate for my needs.

I've had good luck with both active and passive Monoprice HDMI cables. I have a Denon receiver going to 3 TVs.
Two of the runs are 50' or more so I went with active cables for those and passive for the short run.
I think that you are fine with the cheaper passive cable for 25'. Definitely use active for longer runs.

I don’t think you need active for a 25’ run but I would recommend getting it just in case. I own this cable and it works great. If you’re going 1080p probably less important to get active but active would give some future proofing.

Does this cable support ARC?

I was just told by your staff in an email that it did not support ARC though they refered to it as ARK. I have this cable in the 40ft and ARC is NOT working. The 1080 sources are going to my 4k tv fine. The cable is connected correctly. Neither the TV or the receiver recognize an ARC.

Hi Thomas,
Here's what I know. I have a UHD60 4K projector with HDR that has a HDMI 2.0 input. I'm using a newer Yamaha 4K receiver with HDMI 2.0 outputs and I get 4K video with HRD (It's amazing) . I have read the HDMI 2.0 spec and to the best of my knowledge the 35ft Cabernet Ultra CL2 cable does everything the 2.0 spec requires. I haven't actually put a scope on it to test the 18Gbps so I can't verify that.

Currently upgrading my components and need cable help. My components consist of the following... LG OLED65C6P, Marantz SR7010, PS4, and the new Oppo UDP-203. Aside from my PS4, all my new components are up to date with the latest technology. Where my problem lies is, from my receiver to the TV I need a 45FT cable. I have been looking at your Cabernet series which is rated 18gbps and can support all my 4K/3-D needs including 4K/60 Hz at 4:4:4:. Most reviews are great, however some say they don't work. I need help! Also, once the 45FT is taken care of I need help choosing the best 18gbps cables to hook my components to my receiver at a length of 3-6FT. Also, will these throughput HDR and Dolby vision content?

Does this still work for you?
I have the same Denon AVR-X4300H and an Xbox X passing through it to a Sony 65xbr900e and i cannot get a picture, only audio coming through. I even purchased a UHD DVD player to test with as well. Both work fine (hdr) going to TV directly with the cert premium 3ft cords, but even connected directly to the Cabernet CL2 to the TV I get no picture.
Severely disappointed since I tested it out, it worked fine, i installed in-wall and about a week later it has crapped out on me. During the week it was working it was not passing HDR through as the short ones did. My Cabernet was a 40ft cord on top of that, even shorter.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Since this cable is an Active HDMI cable, it would not be recommended to have the TV labeled end plugged into the input of a receiver. It is intended to have that end plugged directly into a TV. It would also not support HDR. I would recommend using our Certified Premium High Speed HDMI cables, product # 21511. These would not be directional and would support HDR.

Cable quality starts to be a real concern at these distances, and performance always is hard to predict, especially because the cable that works on one source/display pair may not work on another. Great for longer runs
This review is specifically for the 25' cable (because I haven't tried the longer runs yet): great cable for long-ish in-wall runs. Never any HDMI handshake issues.
FWIW, I even used these to replace HDMI cables (same length) that someone WAS having handshake issues with(on, IIRC, Netflix 4k content, from a Xbox to an overhead projector) - once I plugged one of these in, those issues disappeared.
Two thumbs up.

Handshake issues
This item had handshake issues and failed to work. I bought some alternate cables and now the problem is gone.

Great cable
Using this through a wall and ceiling to a 1080p projector. Bought this to future proof up to 4K. Picture and sound is perfect. Cable and connectors feel solid. Just remember it is directional!

Rugged cable
Rugged HDMI cable that survived being pulled up through a brick wall and across the attic and back down through a dry wall. Picture and sound are perfect.

Installed backwards, and now useless
I honestly dont know how the cable works. My rating is more on the description. I am a bonehead, and didnt realize these are 1-way cables. I installed them during a basement remodeling project for a ceiling mounted projector. As a boneheaded guy, I didnt really know anything except that these were 25 HDMI cables. I didnt noticed the labels on the cable that said source or display. I have used HDMI cables for years and never knew there were 1-way cables. Needless to say, I ran two of these (1 primary and 1 back-up) in my ceiling before the drywall was installed. Neither work, because I ran them backwards, so that the source end is at the projector and display end is at the DVD player. Fortunately, I ran an Ethernet cable for future-proofing, but now use and Ethernet / HDMI extender, since the 2 HDMI cables I installed are worthless. It is my fault, and I didnt read instructions (typical guy) and didnt notice the labels. My recommendation is that they put 1-way cable in the description, so users get a warning when buying.

Great for livestreaming
Setting up 2 cameras, and a computer for live-streaming. This long cable works perfectly to connect the main camera to the the video switcher.
