Do the Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable w/ RedMere® Technology, 25ft need to be connected directly from the source video (cable, blu-ray,etc) to a projector, or can I run a 6 foot standard HDMI cable from the source to a wall plate and then use the Redmere cables from the back of the wall plate to the projector?

BEST ANSWER: As a professional electrician and A/V installer the first thing I would tell you is, that per the building codes, you can only run "rated" cables inside of walls and ceilings. The insulating jacket must be made of a material rated for this application so as not to out gas harmful chemicals in the event of a fire.
Now, with that said, a basic rule of thumb is that the less connections you have in a cable run, the better the signal quality. That said, if you use a single cable, rated for the in-wall application, and use pass-thru style plates so you have a single cable run. That will get you the best possible sing along transfer as well as being a safe and legal installation.

Yes, but be sure to run a passive cable for the wall plate and connect the source side to the wall plate and display side to the projector.

can i safely use this cable to run inside my wall? is it CL2 certified? does that matter?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does matter and no, not unless the insulation jacket is specified as CL2.
Non rated insulations are made of products which can out gas poisonous fumes in a fire.
It's also a violation of building codes.

Monoprice 4K High Speed HDMI Cable 25ft - CL2 In Wall Rated 10.2Gbps Active Black (Select, 2)

Monoprice 4K High Speed HDMI Cable 25ft - CL2 In Wall Rated 18Gbps Active Black (DynamicView)
BEST ANSWER: DynamicView uses the next generation "RedMere" active HDMI chipset, HT8181. "RedMere" was the name that originally developed the chipset that Monoprice used in the cables. A few years ago a company called Spectra7 bought RedMere, so "RedMere" is no longer used to describe the cable. DynamicView uses latest "RedMere" chipset, HT8181. It is just not called "RedMere" anymore.

DynamicView is an active cable with the HT8181 chipset, which is the latest version of the active cable chipset formerly known as Redmere. This also supports the HDMI 2.0 spec, 4k@60Hz, 18Gbps, YUV 4:4:4 Chroma sampling.
Select Active is an older version of the RedMere chipset and does not support HDR.
Thanks

This question looks like it was asked but the answer is a bit cryptic. I'm getting a snowy picture from my Mitsubishi DLP projector over a 25ft run using a standard HDMI cable. If I run this Redmere 25' cable directly from my projector to a dual female HDMI wall plate can I then use a standard 3ft HDMI cable from the wall plate to my HDMI Onkyo receiver and then another 3' standard HDMI cable from my receiver to my Android cable box (or other source)? Or, would it be better to have all 3 HDMI cables the same Redmere brand? Connecting a DVD player to the projector using a standard 3' HDMI cable results in a great picture, but as soon as I connect the same DVD player thru the 30' standard HDMI cable to the projector I get a very snowy image and my android box signal barely shows up at all, just a few flashes here and there. I would appreciate a clear answer and I will buy based on your recommendations - Thanks! Scott

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. I just want to point out, Active HDMI cables are directional and require the source labeled end to be connected to the source and the TV or Display labeled end connected directly to the TV/Display. They will not work backwards.
For your set up, it sounds like you are experiencing issues due to signal degradation. Which if that is the case using an Active HDMI cable from the wall plate to the projector would assist. Where you would not want to use an Active HDMI cable is from the source to receiver or receiver to wall plate. This can and likely will run into some signal issues.
For your shorter runs, I would recommend using thicker gauge HDMI cables such as 24AWG. The thicker gauge will assist in maintaining a strong and reliable signal.

Hdmi 2.0? I need it for virtual reality Samsung Odyssey hmd. 90hz at Odyssey's resolution of 1440x1600. Looks like it only supports 60hz max. at 1080p. So this is not supported? Important that it's hdmi 2.0 for 90hz. Needed.

HDMI Cable
Worked great for me, attached DVD Player to Tv mounted above fireplace. Fished cable through wall. TV salesperson said that it would not work because cable was too long, anything over 4 feet. Well it seems fine to me.

The greatest HDMI cable I've ever purchased
An amazing cable. Runs my Oculus Rift perfectly in the next door room (not enough space in my computer room for VR). Definitely worth the extra cost

Directional
Make sure you read the fine print. These cables are not Bi-Directional and can cause a little confusion the first time you use them. Once you realize that the cables are fine.

Selective HDMI Cables (25ft)
HDMI Cables work awesome (25ft). I will remind reader to check cable ends to make sure there are connected right (will only work one way - "Directional"). Cables are mark on each end (source, display).

Great value - loose connector
Works exactly as you want. Connectors are weak in my opinion, so they can dislodge too easily, but such a good a good value otherwise!

Monoprice RedMere 25' HDMI cables
Needed a few cables to hook my studio camera to an external monitor. The new art director didn't want to wait for the card download. He's paying the bill, so direct to camera it was.
Some jobs require macro, others a telephoto where I'm 15-25' away. Along came the RedMere cables for lossless data transmission.
Well made cable, after uncoiling laid flat unlike others on the market.
Anyhow, I've now got cables so that the image goes to a monitor.
