BEST ANSWER: Yes it should be compatible. As long as the shape is the same. This recessed plate is designed to mount behind
a wall mounted TV so the cords can be hidden behind the wall. The receptacle is a standard one in this case. You may be able to order the plate without the receptacle. I cannot say if the Z wave feature is affected by the presence of a TV in front of it.

BEST ANSWER: The template from the instructions shows cutting a hole approximately 4.5" H x 6.5" W. I am assuming this box can't be too much bigger that that.

How deep? My wall is thinner than standard. Is this deeper than a standard electrical box?

BEST ANSWER: The short answer is yes deeper than a standard electrical box. It pretty much takes the whole space due to the electrical outlet box which is not parallel to the wall when installed.

Looks good need to install the wiring in the 12 foot high wall, up over and back down no basement to make things easier. So, I wont be installing the box for a while.

Works great for most projects.the only issue I have is it needs longer screws for the dog legs to fit behind 2 layers of sheetrock.

Exactly what I needed
Includes everything needed to do the job well. If you're handy with your basic power tools you can put this in and have it look as good as if the blue shirt geeks did it ...or better.

Very nice enclosure
This unit was very easy to install and allows the power and HDMI cables to be hidden in the wall space. Take your time and do a good layout so it doesn't interfere with your TV mount and you will have a very professional installation.

Like all Monoprice products I've bought, fairly priced and promptly shipped. As indicated by others, this one is a bit ornery to install, but it's still a bargain at $20.

Recessed Low Voltage Mid-Size Plate
Bought this for a wall mounted TV. All the cables have been bothering my wife for a long time, I figure this method would make her happy (important). Installation is easy and straight forward. Simply cutout the hole using the provided template (be very sure that no hidden pipes between the studs), then make the installation and routed all the cables through it.
PROS: Looks great and inexpensive.
CONS: None.

Recessed Low Voltage Mid-Size Plate w/ Duplex Receptacle
Agree with the other reviewer about the difficulty of attaching the receptacle. Seems to me the screws could have been a little shorter. Other than that issue, its a nice plate at a good price.

Good, but could be a little better
The unit should have been placed in the way by my installer, but here we are. Everything about this unit works well with the exception of the mounting of the 110V outlet to the cover box . Come on guys its plastic. 3/4 of the time spent was getting the two screws into the box. Plan ahead and pre-screw the outlet to the box then back them out when installing.
