How wide are the slots? I have a 2.5 inch wide flat cable I'm trying to route.

BEST ANSWER: Answering after 2 years :-) Your cable is prolly less than 2.5 in, but the plug or prong head is 2.5 in. What I did was slowly cut with a saw one side of the inside plate, slide the plug in and then install. The cut is hardly noticeable.

Can I use this in a four gang low voltage box without its coverplate?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This plate is intended to be installed on a 1 gang low voltage mounting bracket. It would likely have trouble fitting on a four gang low voltage box with another plate next to it. We do offer a 30 day return policy and you can return it if you try it out and it does not work.

How loose is the opening and does it keep insects or mice out?

BEST ANSWER: Fair flexible. this is for indoor use only and for passing say home theater cables through. This would not stop a mouse or insect at all.

Good quality. Price of 2 plus shipping was less than cost of 1 at Home Depot. Mail and delivery was slow, but I am okay with that given the situation around the businesses.
