How sturdy are the shelves on this? If someone bumps it will the shelf and component go flying off?

BEST ANSWER: We put the shelves up and everyone of our bedrooms and we have been pleased with their simple and rugged design. Not critical to the actual performance but the little tabs to hide wires are the only cheap part

the shelves have screws in the back to secure them. you would have to bump them pretty hard

I have AVR and a center speaker I would like to put on the shelves. The shelves are too small will they be stable with a little overhang?

We would not recommend using speakers that cannot fit on the shelves as they are when the item is shipped and there is not a way to extend them.

Is there any way to mount this to sheetrock without a stud?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it comes with inexpensive anchors that can mount to drywall. I drove into stuff but I’d be comfortable on drywall, if I wasn’t putting on too much weight. But I wouldn’t use their anchors. FYI the shelf unit mounts with six anchors, in three groups. Space between the two anchors in each is about an inch.

Great Wall A/V Rack
Bought this to downsize my A/V system in my master bedroom, bought two of the racks and joined them together and it turned out better than I hoped, the only thing I would change is making the glass shelves a little bigger, my surround sound receiver just fits.

Awesome unit for the price!
Very nice for a small setup, I used it for all my switch, ps4 and Xbox remotes, chargers and some games. Very nice unit, would recommend to all my friends. Thank you Monoprice!

I would recommend this product however I believe monoprice should edit these a little to accommodate thicker cables and a better way to hold the shelves level when there are items on the shelves. They work well besides these few things

Solid shelves
Was quite worried it would be too small and would not hold the weight of my XBox One, but turned out quite good. Installation is definitely more complex than your standard TV stand. For a peace of mind, we ended up cutting out the drywall and fitting a custom stud specifically for mounting this. Very happy with the end result, it was perfect for me tight corner which was not big enough for a traditional TV stand. Only complaint is the provided "cable management" rail was quite bad, you can't even slide standard HDMI cables inside. Definitely not a rack you want to use if you like clean install with hidden cables.

Product is solid in function and appearance. Easy to mount to the wall. However, the instructions were insufficient in that they didn't explain how to level shelves front to back using the 2 screws that mount each shelf. It's easy to do (assuming you have a level) and adjust the 2 screws in and out to achieve level but not intuitive. Overall, it's fine and exactly what I wanted for the job.
