The shelf is for accessories not the TV. It works great for your cable box, blue ray, etc but it is not designed nor will it hold the weight of a TV.

This is a handy shelf for a small wall mount shelf for a cable box or a Blu-Ray player. It is not something to put a TV on.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the shelf attaches via a 2" bracket that tightens onto the wall plate. The bracket can slide onto the wall plate from the top or bottom.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you mount the wall, the slide the metal floating shelf on the mount for either the top or bottom. Finally affix the glass to the floating shelf.

Very happy
I'm very happy with my purchase of these two TV component shelves. They look great on my wall right next to my TV that's hanging above my fireplace. Would recommend this product to anybody that has the same problem I do as to where to put their TV components.

Great product, easy installation
Nice looking and sturdy shelf. I like the glass shelf. Many of the other products like this will be a plain black metal shelf. The glass adds a nice touch. There are two notes I'd like to add. The little plastic "teeth" that are in the back of the mount slide out quite easily and keeping them in place when mounting could require an extra hand. The other thing is the overall depth of the shelf. I have a VERY legacy disc player that I am putting on this shelf and it just barely fits on it when the RCA connectors are plugged into the back of the player. Most of the Blu-Ray players or more modern equipment aren't that deep so it won't be an issue, but if you are like me and have more of a legacy device then I would suggest measuring.
