This tripod is great. It holds my Canon Rebel T3i with my lens. The legs are great and flexible. It will meet any situation. The only downside is I have a little trouble getting the ball tight enough to keep my camera from drifting over time.
The three legs much too easily detach from the camera mount thus endangering even a very lightweight camera. With such a low price I did not complain and instead inserted wire guides that keep the legs in place.
Ive only use it for one event so far, but it performed well, holding microphones in place while gripped around wooden slats. Still its easy to tell this not a heavy duty piece of equipment. I dont expect it to last long term. For the price, it cant be beat.
This tripod satisfied my need for an inexpensive mini tripod. I purchased it with the intention of occasionally using it with my light weight basic digital camera. Later I realized that I could keep it on my desk, and use it for my online video calls. It is compact, flexible, and can hold various light photo devices. Great for the price, and great for those that don't need a heavier, or more expensive tripod.
This is a decent idea, but the ball head doesn't fix in place - there's a screw that tightens a plastic clamp on the ball, but there's too little of a gap and the plastic clamp can't get tight enough to fix the ball head in place. As a result, your device is constantly moving and sagging - you can never quite get it in the right place. I ended up taking a bit of glue and just gluing the ball head in place, which eliminates the adjustability, but at least fixes everything in one place. I'm using this to mount my Netatmo wind sensor to a pole, it would work great for that purpose other than the issue with the ball joint.
Tripod is small and compact. Legs are easily flexible and nice quality.
But the ball head cant support the weight of an iphone with the Monoprice mobile phone tripod adapter (which was my intended use). The bolt is as tight as possible, but the ball head slips under the weight which then causes the tripod to tip over.
This tripod might be better suited for something like a GoPro or a small light point and shoot. But because of the offset nature of the phone clamp adapter it's too unstable for use with an iphone.
