BEST ANSWER: Six inches end to end. The metal connections are sturdy - this was a great splitter for the price and has worked well with my setup.

do you make the exact opposite gender to this? that is, female jacks on the split end and male plug on the headset end?

BEST ANSWER: No but there are RCA female couplers and RCA female to 3.5mm male that you can us to convert this into female.

The male ends did not fit in to my phone, rendering it useless. Glad the product wasn't expensive.

Works perfectly for splitting audio
These work wonderfully and are high quality and fit well. Note that they split a male signal into two female.
These don't work for joining microphone and headphone into TRRS even though it looks like they could.

Worked like a champ
I have bought many a product from Monoprice over the years, and I have never had a problem with anything I have ever ordered.
These cables or splitter I ordered did exactly what I wanted, I had an RCA jack and where I only had one jack, I needed the splitter so I could plug in 2 speakers for my TV in the bedroom. This splitter did the trick, I have cables from Monoprice that I ordered 2 and 3 years ago and they are still working today like the day I ordered them!!!!!

Great Buy
I needed this splitter on short notice, and I couldn't find it in any stores. Thankfully, this Monoprice audio splitter shipped to me within the next couple of days (before the expected delivery date), and at a great price too!
