does this support 4k with hdr?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: I also purchased a 40ft cable and HDR (deep color) does not work. I get a black screen as if there's no signal if I turn on Deep Color for that particular port on my LG OLED55E6P from a signal that comes from my PC's graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti) I do get 4K@60Hz with chroma 4:2:0 which is good enough for gaming from my couch.

From a similar cable's listing on another site:
IMPORTANT TECH NOTE: Some nVidia graphics cards which support 4Kx2K may not support the Redmere chipset built into these cables. This is an nVidia Video Card software/firmware driver problem. RMA Returns for this product will be granted - but My Cable Mart will NOT provide pre-paid return shipping costs due to product incompatibilities

I just tested my 40ft cable and I'm able to trigger HDR on my TV from my 4K BD player. I guess your mileage may vary but I can confirm it's possible.

Can I run this to a wall plate and then a shorter cable to the source device? I was unsure since this is an active cable
robert a
on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: In that this cable is CL2, you can run it inside a wall. I then connected it, at both ends, to faceplates. Then, I connected the output of the receiver to the one faceplate, and the projector to another faceplate. So yes, you can run a shorter cable. Just be sure to use the source end at the receiver/player and the display end at the projector/tv.

I have run this cable direct to source. I come from connector industry. Always keep minimum number of connector in line. Connectors are always source of signal loss how ever good quality connectors you use.

Does his cable support HDCP 2.2 ?
Jose M
on Apr 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The cable will work with HDCP 2.2 devices. That would just be a protocol in the signal that is read by the source device and the display. So you would want to be sure that your source device and display support HDCP 2.2 when viewing 4K content.
With this Active HDMI cable just be sure that the end labeled source is plugged into the source device and the end labeled TV is plugged into your display. It will not work backwards.

I bought this cable last year for a 30-foot run in wall in my basement. The Xbox works perfectly on it. I recently tried my PS3 and the signal cannot process. Is this expected? Is there anything I can do to get this to work if people had
similar pr, oblems? I was going to buy this again to run in my bedroom walls but now I'm a little nervous if it doesn't work in certain scenarios.

I bought the cable last year to run in the walls of my basement theater room. It worked fine on the Xbox and recently I found that it doesn't work for my PS3. I get a invalid signal on my projector. Is anybody else having this problem and if so, is there any way to fix it? I was thinking of buying the same cable again to run in the walls in my bedroom, but if this cable has problems with with some systems, I'd rather not buy it. Thank you

Thanks Ryan. My old cable that was in the wall (the end broke) was another 30 foot passive cable i bought from monoprice about 6 years ago and that worked fine. So that is why I wasnt sure if it is the active technology or a bad cable with certain hardware. It could be that the old ps3 just cant push on this cable.

Great cable!
I am using this connected to a Denon X3700h AVR and a BenQ 3550 4k projector. It works great and the braiding makes running through conduit much easier than others.

Know what your buying
Love all of the complaints about the cable "not working" until some people realized they were directional. Hello . . . . .you purchased an ACTIVE cable. Understand before you buy.
30 ft cables worked great.

Used the cable to connect to a new 4K projector. Excellent picture eventhough the cable is 30 feet long.
