In the description picture of this desk, it shows a black frame with what looks like a gray table top. Is that gray or white? What model table top is that?

Workstream by Monoprice Table Top for Sit-Stand Height Adjustable Desk, 4ft White

Workstream by Monoprice Table Top for Sit-Stand Height Adjustable Desk, 6ft White
BEST ANSWER: Hi! I just wanted to mention that I ended up buying a table top elsewhere, as none of the options here worked for me, since I needed a small top (42 inches). I got a walnut color, rectangular.
I love the Monoprice dual frame! I got it in April after I had to start working from home, and it works really well. I highly recommend it, and rest assured that you can find a top you like even if you buy it elsewhere.

It does not come with a tabletop; it is grayed out to show the approximate proportions of a tabletop you would add to it.. This item is sold as the frame and motors only. They have a few options you can add to your order, or you can attach your own bought elsewhere; we had one from Ikea that has worked out quite nicely.

It's there simply as a visualization to help you understand what it would look like/how a desktop would fit on it. It does not come with a desktop and I don't think the image depicts an actual desktop.

I am putting the desk in the center of a room with an outlet on the floor. Is there enough power cord to reach the ground with enough slack to raise? Would the excess cord just be on the ground when it is down?
A shopper
on Jul 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the cable that is supplied is an 8' cable. Plenty long enough to reach the ground. The way I cabled up my desk was to use a plug strip that I mounted to the bottom of the desk where everything plugs into it. Then I just have one cable going to the outlet. This keeps it nice and clean.
Good Luck!

There is plenty of cord for that. It is also a standard Computer/Monitor power cord, so you could get the length you need any time.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, you are correct, this item is just for the frame. It can be used with various desktops, we have several options that would work although the mounting points may not be exact for this model and would need pilot holes drilled for best fit. Table top product#: 21601, 21602, 21603, 21604, 21605, 21606, 33085, 33086, 30912, 30913, 30914. Hope this helps. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, we do not have casters spec'd for this desk so there's no easy way to do it. However it might be possible to swap out the adjustable desk feet with M8 casters. Note that stability would be affected especially when the desk is at standing height. Hope this helps.

What is the difference of this desk and "Product # 15722 / Workstream by Monoprice Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Table Desk Frame, Electric, Black"?
Sherman P
on Jun 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this desk is a bit easier to assemble since the legs ship attached and folded so aligning and bolting them on is easier. The power supply is mounted already too. This desk also has higher specs like the following: 265 lb load (vs. 175 lbs), wider maximum desk frame width of 74" (vs. 67"), taller maximum height of 50" (vs. 47"). It is a heavier desk, shipping weight is 85 lbs (vs. 76 lbs). Finally, the control panels are slightly different, same basic functions but this new desk allows for some minor adjustments for limiting the height adjustment range to prevent it from going too low or too high. Hope this helps, thanks for checking.

It appears that this desk has an internal leaf to accommodate the variation in width. What is the dimension of the step off between the leaf and the two fixed surfaces? Is a picture available of the extended width?
Steve B
on Jun 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the pictures on the product page show the desk frame partially extended and therefore showing the two inner bars in the middle of the leg structures. At the narrowest setting of 42.1" wide, those inner bars will be completely inside the frame structure. When exposed, the step off is 8mm from the bottom and 2.5mm from the top, this is because the set screws tighten from the bottom and therefore push the bars upwards. These bars mainly provide rigidity for the desk frame structure and do not have attachment points for desk mounting. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Many thanks for your prompt reply. How is the desk top attached, especially if it is glass or mineral?
Hi, the desk frame comes with screws that work with the most common desktop materials like wood, particle board, and MDF. For glass, metal standoffs that could be attached to the desktop with industrial adhesives and then screwed to the frame are probably best, but glass top manufacturers or installers would be in a better position to recommend specific hardware. For mineral, attaching to a wood base with industrial adhesives and then using screws on the wood might work best, but again, best to consult with manufacturers or installers of that material. Just make sure to stay within the weight rating of the desk frame and avoid excessive unsupported overhangs for long term durability of your desktop. Thanks.

Does this desk have wire management for computer cables?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the desk frame itself does not come with wire management accessories for computer cables. We do have several products that are designed to organize cables on desks that would work well with a sit-stand setup. You could consider the following products for desks: 24466, 30709, 33818, 33815. I plan to use my own top with this fold-out base. Can you provide specs for maximum and minimum desktop size (width, depth)? The other dual-motor base (15722) shows a maximum width of 67 inches for the base, but 87 inches for the top. Is the desktop of this fold-out model constrained to the dimensions of the base, or does it allow larger tops than the other dual motor base?

Workstream by Monoprice Dual Motor Easy Fold-Out Assembly Sit-Stand Desk Frame

Workstream by Monoprice Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Table Desk Frame, Electric, Black
BEST ANSWER: Hi, tops with larger dimensions than the base are OK. The maximum dimensions would actually depend on the desktop material you plan to use and how much overhang the top manufacturer might recommend. The recommendations for the 15722 base just tries to limit the unsupported overhang to 10" max. If using 1" engineered wood, up to 6" overhang would be best, longer is possible but it would be recommended to avoid putting excessive loads on the unsupported parts of the desk to ensure long term durability of the top. Thanks for checking.

Does this desk wobble at maximum height ?
A shopper
on Jul 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this desk is our most stable and robust dual motor / dual leg desk frame at the moment. It is stable for typical office work like with using a mouse and keyboard, writing, etc. Having said that, shaking the desk intentionally could produce a bit more wobble at maximum height compared to lower settings. Hope this helps.

Sturdy and reliable
Easy to put together and very stable at full height. Solid unit. Overall I was pleased with the construction but I did have the screw alignment issue on one main support connections as others mentioned. The sleep and wake function is a a little slow, but I find it works just fine. It's a security feature, so I get it. For heavy and great for custom desk tops, plus it has adjustable width.

Custom top fits the base unit perfectly!

Great home office solution
Desk works great so far (was able to pair it with an inexpensive desk-top). Happy with the actuation range and smooth motion. Easily accommodates a 30" x 60" desk top and feels stable. Assembly was easy with a couple tools (you'll likely want an electric drill to attach the desk surface).

Like the desks - the experience could be improved
I like the desks - the instruction guide could have been better as well as the descriptions on the web. The lack of help online and on the phone meant that I did not buy the corner desk because I could not be assured it was going to work based on the table tops availble.
