Does this have FreeSync or G-Sync capability?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: The user manual does list an option for "FreeSync Mode: Turns the AMD FreeSync feature on or off"
And the video inputs section lists the DisplayPort input as having AMD FreeSync support.
It is not clear which version of freesync, and it seems it may not be available on the HDMI port.
All of this is based on the manual only, I am just trying to figure out if this fits my needs

How the heck do I attach monitor to stand??
Bert S
on Sep 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Look at the back of the monitor. If you see 4 screws and what look motherboard stand-offs that you would see in a case, then there is a metal plate attached there. Unscrew those 4 screws and remove the metal plate. You should now see the 3 slots at the top of the vesa mount spot and you can attach the monitor like normal.
This really tripped me up until I stared at the back of the monitor for a bit.

I attached mine to a vesa mount that required some additional screws. If you are mounting it to the supplied base I think you just use the screws in the box. There is a set to hold the foot to the base and then the base snaps on to the monitor.

Was the VESA mount another piece of hardware included in the box? Any chance you can share a picture of it?
The vesa mount is behind the stand mounting hardware. You have to remove the stand mount to access it. I am not near the monitor to be able to get a picture.
Thanks for looking Iggi. The built in plate on the monitor (behind where the stand attaches) has 4 threaded holes that do not appear to be VESA standard. They are in a 109mm x 104mm. I can only assume this magical plate either has holes at those distances and another offset holes at 100x100 or there was a problem in manufacturing.
The manual lists "1x VESA Mounting Plate" but I can't find where it would have been in the box or if it's embedded somewhere in the stand.

BEST ANSWER: I have two of these monitors, both of which I use with DP only. (Haven't tried with HDMI.) Have you verified the "input source" under "menu" on the monitor is set for DP when you use the DP cable? You might also check the "multi-windows" setting. (Mine is set to "off".) I'm also assuming you've eliminated physical cable and output source issues. Good luck.

Monoprice 32in Vivid Monitor - 4K UHD, 60Hz, DisplayHDR 400, Height Adjustable Stand, IPS

Monoprice 27in Vivid Monitor - 4K UHD, 60Hz, 100% sRGB, 100% Adobe RGB, 97% DCI-P3, DisplayHDR 400, IPS (open box)
BEST ANSWER: No, not at this price point. This is a basic, overly vivid monitor, great for gamers and movies and basic office work. The color itself is not super accurate and difficult to dial in. but worse it does not lock in once you've set it up. Color tends to drift into unnatural hues. Still, I bought it because I'm not doing critical color work and I didn't have the budget for a $1000 monitor right now. I work on it all day and it is fine for general office uses. I just don't do any retouching on it.

Thank you. I wonder what part in the package causes the color drift. I have not studied the 32", but the 27" uses the same panel as the $1k BenQ SW271, BenQ PD2720U, and Viewsonic VP2785-4K. If color was stable, I would prefer to get the Monoprice and a color calibrator ($200?), but I am wondering how clumsy the calibration will be.

Is this theLM315WR1-SSA1 or LM315WR1-SSB1 ?
The LG 32UD99 uses the SSB1 version which has higher brightness and advertises a DCI P3 of 95% and would appear to be much better.
I suspect (and am concerned) that it's no accident that Monoprice didn't list the full panel model number, as it's probably the much lesser LM315WR1-SSA1 panel in reality.

Very fragile monitor
This morning after adjusting the view angle on my monitor I noticed a crack the upper left corner. Very little pressure was applied and I have done similar adjustments on my non-monoprice monitors in the past with no issues. Very disappointing.
Another minor annoyance is the base is slightly rounded which means it can not be used to store small items.

Excellent Monitor for the money (non-gamer perspective)
Howdy folks, just wanted to chime in and report back. This monitor is an excellent value, I was able to snag it at $415 price, and I would do it over and over again. The panel is excellent, and the stand is really nice. I am comparing the stand my Dell 38" Ultrawide, and it's very similar in terms of build quality. When I do some occasional coding, it's a nifty feature being able to rotate the monitor to a vertical orientation. This monitor has a premium feel to it, without the premium price tag. I took a gamble on this monitor, since there werent any reviews on any reputable sources (rtings), and not much was said about it on places like Reddit. But it was a gamble that paid off. My initial impressions are very positive. Having all of this real estate in a 32 form factor is a great thing for productivity, and being able to have multiple applications open when doing things like web dev, and watching youtube videos and taking notes. I would buy another one in the future.

Not perfect, but pretty great for Office work.
I'm not a huge gamer, but I stare at a monitor all day and want large size for content and higher resolution for eye comfort. Monitors designed for gamers have lower resolution, monitors designed for photography have four figure price tags. So I waited and bought a cheap 42" 4KTV as a monitor. It was too big and the sharpness/color even for basic productivity work was terrible. Once prices came down a bit, I upgraded to this.
This 32" Vivid monitor isn't perfect - it needs a setup/assembly guide, needs more HDMI inputs, better HDR, higher refresh on the USB-C input, the adjustment menu is difficult to navigate, and the matte finish makes it feel subjectively less sharp (objectively, it's fine. I just need to get used to it). But there are no dead pixels, color uniformity seems good, the stand is great. I'm finding myself using this PC more because the display is so much more comfortable than what I'd been using in the past. And it's an absolute bargain: similar IPS panels with worse stands cost $200 - $300 more.

Love this monitor.
First off I really enjoy this monitor. I went from a Monoprice IPS 27in monitor to this 32" monitor. I'm running it at full resolution and am very happy with the extra space and quality of the picture.
My only complaint is that the monitor stand included with the monitor was locked up, and they only way they would send me a replacement was by me shipping them back the entire monitor first, then they would send me another one. That would have set me back at least 1 week working from home. So I decided to order a regular monitor stand and it works great.
So very happy with the product, it is hard to find a great 32" monitor out there for this price, and other than the stand I am very happy with this purchase.

Just OK. Good monitor, meh to bad features / quirks for price
At the current market with its price range, it should be a solid mid-upper tier 4k monitor, and the only area in which it delivers are the stand and the monitor itself which isn't all that bad. However it isn't great either, HDR 400 is borderline fake HDR, look it up if unaware.
Now onto the features - first of all imagine a $600 monitor, with only 1 HDMI cable built in for 2019/2020. I ended up needing to invest in a HDMI slitter for the most mundane setup - work laptop with micro-DP when I work from home, personal laptop / PC (just one) and a PS4 with HDMI. Especially given that "older" cable types such as DVI are also unavailable, it straight up only has 3 channels which is very low IMO that I'd expect to find only on the cheapest of cheap monitors.
I also encountered some software bugs or simply non-optimal designs which I'm too lazy to dig into to see if I can fix. It seems that with a Macbook resting, the screen doesn't turn off by itself and would also send some annoying sound blips to my speakers once in a while. I say this not knowing the full cause (could be a quirk of macbook) - BUT my previous monitors do not have this issue. I end up having to manually turn off my monitor every night and it just gets to me. Sometimes it would stuck between switching channel if the initial channel is cut off - buttons don't respond. A couple times I couldn't even turn it off and had to resort to unplugging and replugging to get it to work again.
Those could be my user errors - but if they are, they never happened with my previous monitors and are non-obvious non-intuitive what I should be doing.
The TL;DR is, overall the monitor is good enough for me to work with the quirks and not to bother returning it as a busy working professional. But at the same time would I do it again? Absolutely no. The final slap in the face is the newly listed 32'' 4k monitor on MP (wasn't available when I purchased this monitor) at price $399 seems great on all the features where I highly doubt the difference in monitor quality is big enough to worth the gap. Go there, don't buy this one.

You might want to keep the box.
I purchased this monitor and it worked okay for a couple of weeks. Then it started to get a glow around the edges, and about a week later it got a red line about a 1/4 of an inch from the right side from the top to the bottom. After a couple of days it faded and then a blue line at last pixel on the left side showed up and after a day faded away. Now I just have the yellowish glow around all edges.
I did submit an RMA but of course I don’t have the box anymore to send it back and get it replaced. I figured I could get them to put a hold on my CC and just send me a new monitor and I would send this one back in that box but no they don’t do that.
So now I have two options, get a box that will fit this enormous thing and send it safely back to Monoprice support OR I could just e-waste it. Honestly, the second option sounds a heck of a lot easier.

Great visuals for GIS work and a ton of work space
Disclaimer: Monoprice lent me this product to try in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I work in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) field and spend much of my day looking at data using a multitude of color schemes. This monitor allowed me to view raster data in a stretched color scheme with a more intricate level of detail. I could see the details of elevation datasets more clearly and could more quickly discern where I needed to work with the data. The wide range of color gives a noticeable difference when working with aerial imagery as well. Vegetation takes on a whole new level as the slight changes in green/gold/brown within a farm are visible are larger scales.
On top of that, the large 32" screen provided me with a much larger work space than I am used to. I could see much more of my work in a single view and could get more done in less time.
I used this monitor side by side with my current work issued monitors, both Samsung S24E450. That monitor has 16.7 million colors compared to the more than 1 billion of this one. I didn't think I would be able to see the difference but it was obvious once I had them running together. The size difference was also a big deal, considering my two Samsungs rotated to portrait basically make up the same space as this one monitor.
The catch 22 here is that these great levels of color detail that I see on screen unfortunately cannot be captured by the other hardware we have in the office. I know the moment I print a map or share a document with someone, that color detail will not be as vivid for anyone else. So that could be something to keep in mind depending on your work and the capabilities of who/what will be processing it.
Overall this is a great monitor to have when you need a larger color range and it has put into perspective for me how much more I can get done with the right hardware.
