are these RG-6?
New User U
on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: RG-6 is a type of rating for a cable which is used today for most cable and satellite TV connections. The connector at the end of the RG-6 WILL fit the F Type connector (the gold colored metal part), but so will older cable TV cables like RH-59 as they use the same F Type connector

These are female-to-female F connectors, so if you put an F connector on the end of an RG6 cable, it will work fine. This configuration with RG6 and F connectors is typical for cable TV applications.

RG6 is a rating for cable. F-81 barrels like this work with any cable (including RG6, RG59, etc) that have an F connector on the end, which is the only commonly used connector for TV.

You can use these coaxial keystone jacks to connect two RG-6 cables. The connector itself works with RG-6 or RG-58. RG-6 is a cable standard, not a connector standard.

RG-59,6, and 11 all use the same size F-type connectors. So the answer is yes it will work for RG-6.

Will they fit in Leviton faceplate?
A shopper
on Sep 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I've done it a bunch of times so yes it will fit although not as perfect as the monoprice faceplates. I prefer the monoprice ones because the spacing is better (if you have more than one jack - cat5 and coax)

I'm sure about the Leviton plate. It's a "standard" keystone fit. As long as the Leviton is claiming it's a keystone, it should work.

Yes. I've mixed several different brands together and I've never encountered one keystone device that didn't fit in another brand.

What is the frequency rating for these Keystones? Looking for something that is compatible with Direct TV and they are telling me that I will need something that passes up to 2.150 Ghz.

BEST ANSWER: Hello, these are merely pass through adapter so it will support all the features of the cables you connect to it. I hope this helps, thank you!

This is simply untrue. That is like saying a drinking straw is just a pass-thru device so it can handle an unlimited number of gallons per hour. If the spring that presses on the center conductor is steel, it likely will only pass, at near full power, 1.0 GHz. If the spring is copper, it will likely pass, at near full power, up to 3.0 GHz. Usually 3.0 GHz barrels will have a blue, orange or sometimes yellow insert. White or clear inserts like these are usually only rated up to 1.0 GHz.

I recently installed a set of jacks that included one of these keystones. I have a connection to a DirecTV mini box that is fed thru one of these. It seems to work fine.

These are just a basic connector, so should work well with the cables you intend to use.

what connectors are people using for the internal/inside of the jack? there is not enough space for me to connect the standard f-type cables I have.

BEST ANSWER: The internal connector is exactly the same as the external. If you’re installing this on an exterior wall, insulation can make it a tight fit.

I used a standard crimp on waterproof connector on bulk RG6/Quad Shield.
It's tight, but it fits fine.

I use a compression f-connector. If you don't have the depth you can use a right angle adapter.

Worked fine just one small issue.
The retaining nut was loose when it arrived. I had to tighten it and there is not a lot of room to get a tool in there. Factory should make sure the fittings are in tight. Other than that it worked properly. I would recommend this item.

Cheaper than blanks
I bought these because they were cheaper than the blank plastic inserts. I put them in place when I want to fill a void or remove the coaxial jack and put something else instead.

They do what they claim.
With connectors they either work or they dont. I only used 1 of the 4 that I purchased and it worked like a charm, so Im well pleased.
