Intended to feed a video signal from the DVI-I output of my AMD graphics card to an analog monitor and an XGA distribution amp feeding 2 projectors. I hoped to replace the plugin DVI-I to VGA adapter. Tried multiple VGA cables with no success, then finally got a rather poor signal out to the monitor & projector with noise and colors all distorted. Checked everything 4 times, Restarted the PC multiple times, tried adjustments to both the graphics card & projector settings before putting the old DVI-I to VGA adapter back in place (which worked fine) and giving up after 90 minutes. Would have been a more elegant solution to a problem that really didn't exist; in the end the results were worse, not better.
We bought many of these for our Dell Optiplex 745's so we could use them with dual monitors. They are not usable for this because only one port produces the desktop video. The other produces a copy of the first that only updates every few seconds.
I ordered a cable for my computer monitors. The cable was easily identified on your site because the photos make selecting the correct cable self explanatory. The price was right, too (more than half what I saw on other sites). It was delivered in three days. Thank you MonoPrice!
