The description states "Use either the HDMI® or VGA port to connect an external display". Can this item (Consul Series USB-C Travel Dock with HDMI, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, 2-Port USB 3.0, SD/MicroSD Reader, USB-C 100W PD 3.0) support connecting more than one external display? Thank you.
Can I plug this in "backwards"? I want the short attached usb-c cable plugged into my power supply, and a longer detachable cable plugged into my laptop. Does this work for both power and data? Can someone try and share results – thank you in advance!
I had purchased a more expensive USB-C Travel Dock from another vendor 7 months ago. It worked as advertised and as expected but it was missing two inputs which had proved to be important; VGA and Ethernet.
Not every location I travel to has a projector (etc.) with an HDMI input. These times required a VGA input and I was out of luck with the previous dock.
I also prefer using a wired network connection where possible. Having this all in one dock has been my solution.
I am also very appreciative of the labeling on the top of the dock. It clearly shows you which USB-C input is for data, power, which USB-A input supports USB 3.0 and which also supports USB Battery Charging Revision 1.2.
