what is the difference between these and the carbon fiber poles?
    Daniel B on Jun 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Aluminum is heavier, cheaper, and likely to bend before breaking. Carbon fiber is lighter, stronger, and will likely snap before bending.
What grade of aluminum is used? 7075-T6, 7075 (or other 7-series) or is a 6-series used?
    A shopper on Mar 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 8 series. The Rolls Royce of aluminum series.
Are these poles spring-loaded (shock absorbing)?
    Paul on Feb 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These poles do have a spring inside, so they are somewhat shock absorbing. They have about an inch of travel. Very nice poles, lightweight, easy to adjust. Excellent quality.
Do these poles contain any rubber in their construction?
    A Peter A on May 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They have rubber tips. I believe the handles are cork

    My wife loves them
She says they are lightweight but very strong, and a big help for her on long treks. I have a similar set but all aluminum which are nice but not nice like these.

    Can't beat the price.
These poles are excellent for the price. If you are hiking on a budget, pick up this pair and they will do you well.

    Comfortable cork grip.
    Wide range of height adjustment.
    Sturdy locking mechanism.
    Relatively light.

The anti-shock mechanism tends to rattle and does not seem necessary. Can be a bit annoying and I would rather it didn't have it.
The rubber tips for road hiking are not durable, wore down considerably after one use on road. But if most of your hiking is on trail this should not be a problem.
Wrist straps are a bit uncomfortable at first but improves as they are broken in.

I used the poles on a 4 day backpacking trip to Yosemite. The quality is very nice. I am impressed by the durability and weight. It adjusts well. It seems well made when you look and feel and start adjusting and using it.

    A good bargain!
Seem to be of excellent quality. They adjust easily, and contribute to the exercise value of a good walk due to the arm action required.. Since I had been experiencing some issues with heel pain at the attachment for my achilles, these have been a great help in keeping me active and walking..
I am hoping that there will be replacement rubber feet for these available as I can see where walking on paved surfaces or on rock will eventually wear down the ones that come with the poles.

    Great Value
I used these for a family hike on Mt. Rainier. We were hiking through snowfield and rocky terrain. They do the job as well as the higher priced poles iâ??ve owned. I think theyâ??re a good bargain for this price. I
