Carbon Composite Bottle Cage for Short Bottles

We have bottle cages on our bikes to hold water bottles. That's a simple statement, but in many people's rush to create the lightest, craziest bottle cage they often lose sight of the fact that a bottle cage isn't a hood ornament, it's an important functional component of a bicycle. That's why our primary concern when designing our bottle cage was making sure that it would hold a bottle, and hold it well. This lightweight carbon fiber water bottle cage is ideal for Road, Mountain, Cyclocross, and Gravel Riders who prefer rolling hydration using a water bottle.

how does this attach to bike?
    A shopper on Jun 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Two screws (normally already on the bike so can help you with size and thread type). Make sure the lip is on the bottom to support the bottle. I have two on my bike. They have been great and hold my Polar bottles snug.

    Too small
I was excited to see these, and even more excited to try them. They're reasonably lightweight at 39 grams, nothing crazy, but better than a lot on this price range.

The one big problem is that they're too tight. I tried about a dozen different bottles, and not one fit right. They were so tight that they'd bulge out of the opening between the wings of the cage. While riding it's quite difficult to pull your bottles out, enough so that it would be hard to keep a straight line in a group. Putting your bottles away isn't any easier.

Fortunately Monoprice has great service, so they not only returned the cages, but forwarded the information on up the line so these cages may get improved.

    PROS: Lightweight
    Great looking

    CONS: Too tight!

Full Carbon Bottle Cage - For how much?
Some of the reviews made me nervous about it being tight and having issues removing a bottle while on the move. I use Polar bottles and have had zero issues with it being troublesome to remove. Its not much fun dodging stray bottles during a race that wiggle loose, and these i don't worry about.

    Good cage for the value
I'm an avid cyclist but by no means a competitive cyclist so I cannot justify the cost of what some places want for a carbon cage. When I saw this one for less than $20.oo bucks I jumped on it.

It's light weight, easy to install and does the job well. I cannot complain one bit.

    PROS: Lightweight
    tight grip
    looks good

    Carbon Bottle Cages
I just about fell out of my chair when I got the email that Monoprice was selling bike gear. I avoid fake/cheap Chinese carbon knockoffs like the plague because the quality is SO inconsistent. That said, I've always been impressed with Monoprice quality and service so I gave them a try. A solidly built product...probably even a bit overbuilt... and a micro-tad heavier than some other carbon cages Ive had, but price-to-value they cant be beat. FYI...the cages are slightly tight...great for keeping the bottle in, but requires more pull than normal to get the bottle out. Time to give the wheels a try!

    build quality
    secure bottle fit

CONS: None yet, but Ill update as needed

It was ok at 7.99, but it too is tight and a bit brittle.

Great value for a carbon fiber cage if one is dead set on having carbon fiber match the rest of the bike.. Decent quality. Biggest weakness is the diameter is so narrow that only small water bottles made of flexible plastic will fit. Any regular or larger sized water bottles made of harder non-flexing material will not fit or will not be able to be removed while riding. The higher the quality of carbon fiber the less that is required for structural rigidity. It appears in this case a lower grade was used than you'd find on other name brands and as a result more materials was used so the cage ends up being heavier and too rigid.

PROS: good value if you have to have carbon fiber

CONS: not as light as other materials (Aluminum, Plastic, Titanium)
    too small

As everyone else has stated, these are too small to use.
Some retail packaging bottles like SmartWater fit, but any normal cycling bottle needs to be forced in to the point of impracticality.

    too small
I think these cages are really nice design, well made, and at a great price...but extremely small. I haven't been able to find a cycling water bottle that fits, so I haven't been able to use them on my bike.

This short cage does not fit any bottles. I tried it at the store and the 1 or 2 bottles it that actually into, had to be forced into the cage.

I could see this holding a can or something but not a cycling container.
