Does this switch have any type of status led indicator that is viewable in a dark bedroom at night?
Jack A

BEST ANSWER: There is a tiny blue indicator LED at the bottom left of the switch, but it turns off when the switch is off. If you dim the light to 0% instead of turning it off, the light stays on, It's not particularly bright either.

yes, it has a small blue LED at the bottom when it is on. I like it. It is not obnoxiously bright as some others are, and it is only on when the switch is on. Oh, and it is green during setup and pairing.

Only once you have the switch configured. Initially the switch works as a normal switch with no led, after connectivity with the app the led will be blue(ish).

I am having trouble understanding why the switch would not work with multiple loads (As long as the aggregate load foes not exceed its design limit)_ It can handle a 150w load, and typical led bulbs are 10-15w each. How would the switch have any "clue" what is the nature of the load connected to it? (Other than the aggregate impedance, and current draw). As I recall dimmers basically flash the bulbs at a fast rate, giving the eye the illusion of lower light level. Perhaps the limitation stems from being conservative ( perhaps trying to avoid several led bulbs with different characteristics ganged together).?

I just had bought a bunch of the Z-wave dimmers are these better/worse/same?

on Jul 25, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I having never owned Z-wave but, did seriously consider going that way. The attraction away from Z-wave is the freedom of no pricey hub. I tried a few Stitch products and now I'm fully in with another order on the way. I'm able to control everything from any internet access. This important as we travel in an RV at times. And yes you can set up a security system with careful planning. Just have police and fire numbers handy. FYI, the numbers are good only in areas not controlled by BLM people.

Different. z-wave requires a separate controller which connects to your home network, then all the devices connect to the controller. These switches connect directly to your wifi network. There are advantages to both approaches.

WIll a future version support 3-way wiring using the integrated "traveler" wire connection?
jim m.
on Jan 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: While this isn't an answer about this product - iDevices dimmer switches are one of the few that work as 3-way smart switches. However, they do NOT use the traveler wire. That wire gets capped, and they use BT to communicate with each other. The way it works is it basically converts your 2 switches into only 1 switch that controls the light, and the other switch tells the first switch over BT to turn the light on/off. Only reason I state it here is for those that are looking for 3-way capabilities out of a smart switch. Unfortunately they are WAY more expensive than these.

While I haven't purchased this switch yet (I plan to just to try them out since they are so cheap comparatively), I do have some of the stitch outlets and I was NOT able to add them to my Harmony remote setup. I wanted the ability to turn my subwoofer on by pressing one of the programmable buttons on my Harmony remote. That was a no-go. Harmony really didn't support much as far as 3rd party devices.

Good functionality & Great Price
Easy to do the install wiring, but the back side of the switch is somewhat large making the fit in a shallow electrical box very tight. Nice that it has capability to function a two-way or three-way switch. Works perfectly with Amazon’s Alexa. Also very nice that it can be switched off manually without impacting ability for Alexa to turn it back on (unlike smart bulbs).

Great product. .
Works flawlessly, installed prior to leaving on vacation and was able to remotely turn my front porch lights on and off as if we were still at home. I could verify it was working using my ring doorbell.

Works as expected.
Installation was easy once I figured out the wiring. Being able to control the lights from the app is great and allows us to turn on/off and dim remotely. Well worth it and should have done years ago.

Meh
Need 3 wires to install
The current wires to this switch are two so I’m going to have to pull a 3rd wire from the lights

2 of 3 Units Failed
Bought two originally, installed one downstairs and it worked perfectly. The one upstairs was in the line of sight to the router. The LED never lit and the network could not find it.
Returned it for a replacement. It worked just long enough to join the network and died. Now the LED doesn't light
Will be returning it and will find another brand.
