Does this switch have any type of status led indicator that is viewable in a dark bedroom at night?

Only once you have the switch configured. Initially the switch works as a normal switch with no led, after connectivity with the app the led will be blue(ish).

I am having trouble understanding why the switch would not work with multiple loads (As long as the aggregate load foes not exceed its design limit)_ It can handle a 150w load, and typical led bulbs are 10-15w each. How would the switch have any "clue" what is the nature of the load connected to it? (Other than the aggregate impedance, and current draw). As I recall dimmers basically flash the bulbs at a fast rate, giving the eye the illusion of lower light level. Perhaps the limitation stems from being conservative ( perhaps trying to avoid several led bulbs with different characteristics ganged together).?

does it remember the last dimmed setting when I switch it on?
A shopper
on Sep 9, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Yes it remembers the setting. In the case of a power outage to the switch itself however, it turns off and loses the last dimmer setting. If you’re using Alexa for example, it’s an easy reset by saying “Alexa, living room light 25” and it’ll set it to 25% brilliance in this case. IMPORTANT!!! These switches do not allow you to use the traveler wire if you’re on a 3-way circuit! I ensure that the other switch is permanently in a set position and then I can voice control the circuit using Alexa. Hope this helps. Pete.

Yes it does - however - I have a few routines built into my smart home controls where it gradually dims at night to almost off and then gradually brightens again In the morning. If I get up in the middle of the night and turn on that switch, it turns on to that dimmest setting… so it’s great, until it’s not. Hope this helps.

Does the dim function work with a ceiling fan with 4 light bulbs?
Kevin D
on Aug 7, 2021
BEST ANSWER: If you’re referring to just the lights in the ceiling fan, it will work with incandescent & dimmable LEDs. If the fan and lights are on the same switch, I doubt the dimmer will handle the load of a fan (the switch may overheat when running slow). Remember, this switch does not do 3-way even though it has a traveler terminal but the non-dimmer version does.

I think it would depend on if you can dim the bulbs with a ‘regular’ dimmer and the total wattage of the bulbs.
I have one controlling four wall sconces with 34.4 total watts (4 led bulbs). At the dimmest setting only one of the sconces are illuminated.

BEST ANSWER: I having never owned Z-wave but, did seriously consider going that way. The attraction away from Z-wave is the freedom of no pricey hub. I tried a few Stitch products and now I'm fully in with another order on the way. I'm able to control everything from any internet access. This important as we travel in an RV at times. And yes you can set up a security system with careful planning. Just have police and fire numbers handy. FYI, the numbers are good only in areas not controlled by BLM people.

Different. z-wave requires a separate controller which connects to your home network, then all the devices connect to the controller. These switches connect directly to your wifi network. There are advantages to both approaches.

WIll a future version support 3-way wiring using the integrated "traveler" wire connection?
Jim M
on Jan 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: While this isn't an answer about this product - iDevices dimmer switches are one of the few that work as 3-way smart switches. However, they do NOT use the traveler wire. That wire gets capped, and they use BT to communicate with each other. The way it works is it basically converts your 2 switches into only 1 switch that controls the light, and the other switch tells the first switch over BT to turn the light on/off. Only reason I state it here is for those that are looking for 3-way capabilities out of a smart switch. Unfortunately they are WAY more expensive than these.

While I haven't purchased this switch yet (I plan to just to try them out since they are so cheap comparatively), I do have some of the stitch outlets and I was NOT able to add them to my Harmony remote setup. I wanted the ability to turn my subwoofer on by pressing one of the programmable buttons on my Harmony remote. That was a no-go. Harmony really didn't support much as far as 3rd party devices.

Will it work with single and double pole switches? My living room light is connected to another switch in the dining room.

BEST ANSWER: Same situation. Is built with three-way switch configuration. Even has a piece of tape over the traveler screw telling one to only use if in a three way switch configuration. Even page 9 of the User Manual provides the three way wiring diagram...but in the fine print below the diagram...Manual says "despite the presence of the traveler...this switch does not support 3 way switch functions."

NO, despite having the required connections, the manual specifically says it does not support the 3-way switch function. I found out the hard way after I installed it

The switch installed very easily - but now I cannot get it connected to my wifi - how do I make the blue light blink slowly?

BEST ANSWER: My first question would be did you wire the neutral? When you press the button does the device operate? Is the device within range of your WiFi signal? If yes do you have the Stitch App loaded on your phone or I Pad device? When you click the + button in the app do you see the device? After these questions have been answered positive the next thing to do would be to log into your router and see if anything shows up you don't recognize? If you are not able to answer these questions you may need an IT person or electrician to help you. Good Luck

If it's similar to the Stitch bulbs, I had to turn them off and then on, with 1-2 sec in-between, 3-5 times in a row. There was a tiny square of paper in my box that gave me that instruction.

Why does the box show "3-way switch" while the user manual plainly says this dimmer switch does NOT support the 3-way function? That's simply deceiving.

BEST ANSWER: "3-way switch" not dimmer. This device will use a traveler wire to act as a 3-way switch but it will not function as a 3-way dimmer.

That’s just the way it is. I too had great plans for 3-way dimming as well but alas, it was not to be. One rainy day maybe I’ll get back to it. Personally, I’ve chosen to use the dimmers only on an SPST type of circuit. That way I don’t have any drama. I also use the dimmer switch to control the ceiling fans in my house. They work very well, however the fans can be a little noisy depending on the setting on the dimmer. The integration with Alexa works very well for us as well, BTW.

Works well enough, but not perfect
The biggest 2 issues I have is that the Stitch app doesn't have these for a quick add to the app. And so it's annoying to get it connected and added. Once added it's working fine
The other issue is that a quick tap (either on or off) doesn't usually register, you have to give it a firm tap, which is annoying when quickly walking into a room

big thumbs up
Finally installed after having the switch sit around for probably a year, replacing a difficult to reach switch behind the kitchen table.
Absolutely could not have been simpler. BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WHITE NEUTRAL WIRE RUNNING TO THE BOX HOLDING YOUR SWITCH THAT YOU ARE REPLACING - it's required for wifi power when the light is off. Mine was not connected to the old switch, but tucked off to the side.
The Switch is a bit large but I fit it in a small metal junction box without too much issue. The Switch is *really* well made, quite solid with several design features to make it easier for a non-electrician to install. For example, the wire connectors are really nice, insert the wires into the appropriate holes and tighten the screws (best I've seen), and things are recessed to minimize the chance of accidental shorts.
My first STITCH device - the installation software is amazingly simplistic (in the best way), AND it worked flawlessly the first time. It was so quick and simple, I was sure that something had screwed up, but no.
I then spent 10 additional seconds connecting to Alexa (enabled on Sonos).
Alexa, Dimmer on. Alexa:OK.
Alexa, Dimmer off.
Alexa, Dimmer 50%.
Good stuff. I've been playing with WiFi and proto-WiFi devices for just about 30 years now, this is a very polished product for what is almost a commodity item.

Mediocre.
It is ok. There is some delay and sometimes not work at all. I would turn it on using Google assistant and it shows on but the light is actually off. Another switch I cannot get it to connect. It goes thru the whole thing but the last part just wont complete so the app does not see it. It connects to internet and cloud but not the app. So the light is solid and I can see it from my wifi and has full signal but never shows on app.

Easy Use Switches and Easy Application (Stitch)
We wanted to make our home a smart home. We had 32 light switches to change out, 21 were just simple on/off switch and 11 were dimmer switches. Reasonably priced and arrived in just a few days.
Once we would get several in an area installed and flipped the circuit breaker back on, used the Stitch app to auto find the newly installed lights. Would just click on a light to turn them on and off to know which switch we were using, and simply renamed the switch to what I wanted.
Works great with our Google Home app. As soon as I had the switches named, opened Google Home and then added them to the room of choice. No problems with them at all.
I would recommend this product to anyone. Great working smart switch.
