    Is this product wink compatible?
    Dallas K on Jul 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Does this work with wink yet?
From SmartThings, can you tell if the door/window is open or closed? In other words, does it just alert when there is a state changed or can a ask it if it's open/closed? Thanks!
    A shopper on Aug 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it reports open/closed in the app. Anytime you look at it (or when any connected smartapps look at it) you'll see open/closed state.
How does this compare to the other Door/Window Sensor? What are the differences?
    Brian P on Jul 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This product is very similar to our other one, with just a different form factor
    Thanks

    Is this compatible with Vivint?
    Keven G on Jul 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Only sensors sold by Vivint or 3rd party platforms that they have published partnerships/integrations with are compatible with the Vivint ecosystem.
Does it have Internal dry contacts? Would like to wire Reed switch to it.
    Priya A on Aug 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Looking at the inside of the sensor - there are no dry contacts like there are on the other monoprice windor/door sensor (which aren't operational). Go Control makes sensors with the dry contacts that work (work for me with SmartThings).

    Can you paint these sensors?
    A shopper on Aug 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don’t see why not, they are magnetic based sensors and unless there is metal in the paint they should still function.
Does anyone know how to get this to work on smarrthings? Says inactive when connected. No smartapps seem to work with it either.
    lynn-kai c on Aug 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had issues with this too until I added the device as secure. I read the instructions and there are two methods, unsecure and secure. Here's the steps I went through and I successfully added 5 devices.

    1) Stand about 1 ft from the smartthings HUB
    2) From your phone Add a device.
    3) While the phone is searching for the device, press and hold the little black button for 3 seconds.
    4) The sensor light will flash and your phone will detect the device.

    Thanks

Added to Smarthings and it always shows INACTIVE status, not OPEN/CLOSED?
    Wenfeng L on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You need to sign into the SmartThings API and change the device type. It should be set to Z-Wave Door Open/Close or Z-Wave Plus Open/Close, or get the custom device handler from Rboyapps for all the Monoprice Z-wave devices.
Can this be wired to an external sensor or magnet?
    A shopper on Aug 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, not without breaking it apart and soldering to the board
Cannot pair with Smartthings. Any help?

    Works great with Home Assistant
I purchased and added over a dozen of these door/window sensors about a month ago. Adding them to Home Assistant (in secure mode) was easy. These sensors each report status changes quickly (within a second).

The only issue I've had so far is regarding the tamper switch. A couple sensors didn't seem to have the tamper switch extend far enough when using the tape that came with the sensors, so as a result, were always in the "tamper" status. Probably could have exchanged for other sensor with monoprice, but it was simple enough to take some of the extra tape to "extend" the tamper switch, so it ended up not being a big deal.

    Works great!
Purchased 2 of these after having a bad experience with the other model door/window sensor Monoprice sells. Both registered quickly with no problems. Using them with a Vera Edge.

    Works very well!
I'm using this with Home Assistant and a USB Z-Wave gateway. It connects easily and communicates simply enough.

I would like it more if it didn't show up as 3-4 different sensors (where only one changes value), but I'm sure theres a way around that, I just haven't looked for it yet.

This sensor works incredibly well and has almost instant reaction time. I start opening the door and the lights on on before I can even go through it.

    Very happy with this purchase.
