Does the in-line control let you adjust the volume?
    A shopper on Jun 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, my control did not function. Not certain what the the "push-to-talk switch" refers to, since there is no microphone with this headset.
How is the mic on these headphones?
    New User U on Dec 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Don't use it very often, but it works quite well. The Siri problem is interesting. I had the same problem with my iPhone 6 but now that I've switched to an iPhone SE it's gone away. Makes me think this is an iPhone problem, not a a headphone problem.
Are these comfortable to wear with glasses on?
    A shopper on Dec 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They are a firm but comfortable fit... especially with large heads. Therefore, if your earpieces (of glasses) are thick or of hard or sharp materials, long listening might cause uncomfortable soreness.

    A "Sound" Value
My "desk" headphones are the Audio Technica ATH-M50x, which are a great value in and of themselves. But they're not made to wear around in public. These Monoprice 'phones are perfect for thatlightweight and comfortable, with a shockingly nice sound. Clear mids and highs, and surprisingly deep bass. After more than 30 hours of break-in, there's a very slight boominess at 125 Hz, but I can remove that with my Onkyo HF Player iPhone app (I also boost the lower frequencies a little). The in-line play/pause switch is nice too, and the mic worked great on a phone call this morning. I don't need a volume switch, so its absence doesn't bother me.

Some have complained that the cord is too short, and it is a little short for use at my desk (my Audioengine D1 DAC is on a shelf underneath), but for portable use, it's just fine.

Another note: these headphones are pretty easy to drive, allowing lower volume settings (and thus less battery drainage) on your portable player.

As a professional musician, I'm picky about sound, and I really enjoy listening to thesemaybe because I can't believe that sound this good is so inexpensive. I will buy another pair. Highly recommended!

    PROS: Inexpensive

    Great sound!

    In-line play/pause switch/mic

CONS: No in-line volume control (but I don't care, so it's not a "con" for me)

Not nearly as good as 8323
I think these don't sound nearly as good as the 8323. They're very bass heavy. Mids and highs are recessed and somewhat muddy. I listened to my favorite songs with them and thought why was this one of my favorites. Then I listened with the 8323s and thought oh yeah, now I remember. These headphones are inexpensive, but I think the 8323s are easily worth the extra $9.

    PROS: Inexpensive, lightweight

CONS: Too bass heavy. Recessed, muddy mids and highs.

Five Stars for what it is: perfect for this price point!
I am amazed at the complaints from consumers who expect $200 quality from a $15 set of headphones. You're not going to get better sound from something that costs even twice as much. I just listened to a high quality version of the 1812 symphony to give me perspective to write this review, and the mods and highs were fairly crisp and the bass resonated really well. I was impressed with how well they handled to cannon fire in the piece. Sure they aren't $250-$400 Bose headphones, but make no mistake, low cost doesn't equate to cheap here. They sounded so well, I had to remind myself that I only paid 15 bucks for these. I've had mine 6 months now, and they've held up well too. They aren't notice cancelling, but the foam earpieces are comfortable and do a good job of isolating outside noises. The microphone works well for calls and games. Overall, these are outstanding headphones. They're lightweight, and not built to take abuse, but these really are the best headphones you'll find under $30, hands down!

    PROS: Outstanding price!
    Really good quality sound
Comfortable to wear for long periods of time

CONS: Not bass heavy, so some pop/urban music will not meet users' expectations

These replaced my 15 yoa son's Skull Candy headphones that were 5x the cost. He said the Monoprice headphones sound clearer ad are more comfortable.

    PROS: Quality sound, comfortable, lightweight

    CONS: None

    Good for newer headset connections
I bought these to use with my Xbox One controller since it uses the audio and microphone in the same 4 pin plug. It works great for that, and the new controller style lets me plug it in directly without needing an adapter. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to mute the microphone when I do that, but that isn't too big of a deal.

Lately, my daughter has taken to using them and she really likes them. Her laptop uses the same headset plug connection for headphones and microphone in the same plug so they work great if she needs a microphone.

The ear cups swivel flat which makes it very easy to slide them in a back pack or put them away in a drawer for storage. The headband doesn't fold up like some other models, but these aren't that large so it isn't really necessary for them to do that.

I still prefer my premium Hi-Fi headphones (PID 8323) to these and as long as I don't need a microphone they are my preferred headphones still.

If you need a small headset with a nice short cord, then save a few bucks and get these. If you need just headphones and like a detachable cord, then I would recommend spending a few more dollars and getting the others (PID 8323). I'm tempted to try the newer over-the-ear headphones (PID 10243) to see how I like them, but right now they are more expensive.

PROS: Good sound quality. Convenient cord length for personal devices. Folds flat for easy storage. Microphone is fairly clear quality. Blocks out sound well for an on-ear headphone.

CONS: Headset band is a little small. I'm pretty average and I have them extended out all the way. Not comfortable when I'm wearing glasses (since the ear cups sit on my ear). No in-line mute function for microphone.

    Much more than I expected
Wow these babies are much better than I expected. Ive always been surprised at the quality and performance of everything Ive purchased at Monoprice and these headphones are no different.
First they fit tight. I thought that would be a problem but after falling asleep with them on for 4 hours my ears were not sore at all. Then the sound....its amazing . And it has a lot more bass than I thought it would have. Clean crisp sound with good bass. I couldn't ask for more from $15 headphones.
    Love them!
One last thing...I hear stuff in music and such that I never noticed before. One sogn started and I thought something in the room was making a sound and it was part of the song I had not heard before with my old headphones.

    Great for the price.
These headphones aren't perfect, due to the somewhat cheap materials used to make them, but they sound surprisingly good for the price. The sound isn't overly colored so you get a well balanced sound. The main con is the plastic used is somewhat cheap and it squeezes your head a little too tightly, but for the price you really can't go wrong!

    PROS: Good sound
    Not overly colored

CONS: Cheap plastic (forgivable at the price point)

Premium sound at a Budget price
These lightweight headphones sound great even on low power devices, and that is not easy. I have other headphones and earbuds that sound as good IF I am using a headphone amp with them. Getting a balanced sound with rich bass response from low power audio devices is quite a feat.

PROS: Great balanced sound and very lightweight. Amazing buy at this price.

CONS: I wish these headphones were designed to let you swap out the cords like Monoprice does on other models. It would be great to have an option for a short cord that would just reach your shirt pocket or arm band.

The absolute best deal in over-the-ear wired headphones
If you are looking for great light weight headphones that are light on your head, and comfortable around your neck when they aren't on, you can't beat these. The bass, obviously can't match big "cans " headphones, but in the lightweight range, they sound nearly as good. They are perfect for listening to podcasts while you're walking or commuting.

The nearest comparison in this low price range is the AmazonBasics headphones, and these are better because they have a microphone and play/pause button on the wire. If they are on sale, buy them as a spare before you need them, and you'll be very glad to have them if your main headphones break.
