64 LED Photo / Video Light Panel - Black
Flood your subject with light by using one or more of these 64 LED Photo / Video Light Panel from Monoprice!
The flood light uses 64, high-brightness LEDs to provide up to 480 lumens of white illumination. The color temperature of the LEDs is 5500K, which is about the same as vertical daylight.
The lamp has two brightness settings and is powered by four AA batteries. This means that you don't have to worry about remembering to charge an internal battery or using the lamp beyond an internal battery's duration. Simply carry some spare batteries with you and keep snapping pictures long into the night.
The light measures 3" x 3" x 1.2", plus about 1/2" to the height for the cold shoe mounting foot. The top and sides of the unit have cold shoe accessory receptacles, so you can attach multiple lamps together to increase the total available illumination. The lamp comes with a 6.5" accessory extension arm.
For our applications, in the evening after sunset, this didn't provide anywhere near enough light.
In fact, after being disappointed by it on our shoot, I started looking around and found out I could get a much better light from a well known online retailer for only 2 dollars more with free shipping. This light has 160 LEDs, the ability to change the angle of the light, multiple diffusers (including tungsten & 3700k), can work with rechargeable battery packs, and has full-range dimming controls (I can change the brightness with a wheel on the side).
To me, that makes this light worth at least half of what it's selling for here on Monoprice. And after returning it and getting the other one (which I love), I hope Monoprice will consider these changes in their next version of the light.
