    Excellent value
Does the job perfectly. Have taken quite a few photos, the filter doesn't seem to cause any sort of degradation to image quality, but I've only used it in studio with strobes.

    Good, thin UV Filter
Works well and seems like good quality. About 5.5mm total thickness and the visible ring (once installed) is about 3.9mm. Before this I had a generic "ultra-thin" UV filter that measured about the same but the front threads were so shallow the lens cap would not stay on securely. No such problems with this Monoprice filter. The one possible concern is that it only screws onto my lens (Nikon 18-200mm) about 1/2 turn before becoming tight. It seems very snug and like it should not loosen on it's own but with only 1/2 turn before it would fall off and hit the ground I hope it stays in place.

    PROS: Thin

    Top quality.
Pro quality at a rock bottom price . A good dust and smudge fighter for the lens . Cuts a good amount of glare on your photos..

    Foggy images
I was initially thrilled to find a well priced UV filter I could throw over my existing lens to protect it from kicks and scratches. I was disappointed, however, to find all images taken with the filter to be hazy. After checking the filter, cleaning and snapping some more shots I had to discontinue use as the images produced were unacceptable.

PROS: Cheap UV lens cover that will protect your expensive glass from scratches.

CONS: Distorts or otherwise makes images appear hazy. Still the case even after ensuring the lens is fully clean.
