Can this be used for carrying an electric guitar?
    A shopper on Jan 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would not put my guitar in this case. While it can “fit” my Les Paul Standard, the foam is not dense enough to properly protect the guitar. And the foam that would be remaining on the sides of the body would be far to thin to provide any travel protection.
I am assuming the 47" x 16" x 6" given in the description are the outer dimensions. What are the inner dimensions?
    A shopper on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yeah I found this out the hard way while ordering a case too quickly. Wont fit what I need it to. But why the H&$L do they list the external dimensions in the product description? Literally and figuratively it's what's on the inside that counts right? I'll have to sell this off to some unsuspecting tele player or something. :P
Does it have a lock? Come with two keys?
    A shopper on Jan 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. There are no locks, hence no keys. In order to secure the case, there are two holes on each side that come together, through which you would put a padlock.

    Very nice rifle case
Lets make one thing clear. This thing is designed for rifles. And it looks like it does a damn good job of it. The outer case is very sturdy. I went along the outside of the case inspecting the hinges and the seals and it all seems to be in good order. At first I saw a gap in the seal, but this seems to be pretty uniform through out the outer case. The thing that is causing the gap between the seals is the inner O-ring. I inspected the imprint on the O ring inside the case and it is uniform throughout. So the seal is working as designed. I suspect that this gap on the outside will diminish as the rubber/silicone compresses overtime.

One thing to note is that other brands like Pelican require you to replace this O-ring over time. I hope Monoprice has a plan to bring in O rings, as they are a replacement part that will be needed in the long run.

I'm very pleased with this purchase and will update as I own this case longer.

PROS: Very Sturdy. Its a good size and I can fit 2 rifles with accessories comfortably.

CONS: The clips are a little tough to get locked in.

    Tour case
I took this case on a multi flight, 17 date band tour over the course of 21 days. During this time, it traveled thousands of miles in planes and our van. The case survived surly baggage handlers, stage crews and drunken band mates without problem.

Not only did it protect my mono synth and pedal board, it came in at exactly the weight limit for air travel when fully loaded. Besides that it made my life easier knowing that it would get between stages in working condition with ease.

All in all, it was a smart buy for the money.

    PROS: * Affordable

    * Just the right kind of durable

    * Not heavier than the competition but not weak either

    * Has wheels and handles

CONS: * Side handle pin is shaking loose

    * Can bend a little

    * Some people might find it too heavy even though I didn't

Soild Entry in the Hardcase Market
First things first, this case was provided to me by Monoprice free of charge for the purpose of writing this review.

With that out of the way, I use the Monoprice Waterproof Hardcase to store and transport an AR-15 rifle. The dimensions allow for the rifle to be stored along with several magazines, an optic and some assorted tools all with plenty of space leftover. have used several different rifle cases from all the major manufacturers, from the budget friendly options to the industry leading models. This case is right up there with the best. Upon first inspection the quality of this case is immediately apparent. The shell is hard and has almost zero flex. It has two sets of wheels and handles on three of the four sides. Inside, the top foam is standard egg crate pattern and the lower piece is precut for easy plucking. I actually prefer the pluckable foam over the solid type, I can never cut the shapes cleanly so the plucking foam is much easier to use. The foam itself is quite solid, enough so to protect what is inside.

The case has an IP67 rating, which is also the industry standard for protecting valuable equipment. This is no budget case the overall construction is rock solid and far superior to the low cost offer on the market. It is waterproof and features a manual pressure valve, has multiple clasps and a eyelet to attach a lock. The eyelet is not reinforced however, though usually this doesn’t make a big difference. The handles are also solidly made and attached. It’s a nice perk to have an extra set of wheels and handle, allowing a little bit more flexibility in terms of transportation. As mentioned before the hinges are high quality and the clasps are very solid. There is nothing loose or flimsy about this case.

Though not drastically cheaper than the competition, this case is a rock solid contender, definitely worth the asking price. It meets or exceeds expectation in all important aspects the construction is solid, the materials are quality and the presentation is top notch. Aside from being well made the case is just nice, it looks good and you feel safe storing your equipment inside. With hard cases you get what you pay for, and in this case you get a little more.

PROS: Quality materials and construction, full featured.

CONS: Regular price is a little too close to a competitor.

Good solid case. Bought it for mic stands, but I discovered that a set of flat pars and a stand fit perfectly. I'll be buying two more.

    308 MSR
Perfect fit for my 308 MSR with scope and bipod.
Excellent quality, although the latches are a bit harder to secure than other cases. But no big deal and a great price.

    Overall solid case
Overall very solid construction. I bought this to house some camera gear and it is exactly what I needed. I have used a Pelican case of the exact same dimensions and really there is not much of a difference to the build. I was really impressed by how similar it is.

Even with the manufacturing flaw I mentioned above, I am happy with the case and would recommend it to anyone who needs to transport gear safely.

PROS: Sturdy. Wheels on one end are nice. Feels a lot like a Pelican with a significantly cheaper pricetag.

CONS: 1 minor manufacturing flaw. The 2 layers of foam aren't cut the same. The grid is slightly off. When I tried to pull out squares to make cuts 2 layers deep, they were off by a little under a centimeter. It's a minor annoyance, but it's tough to get a snug fit like that.

    Just what I needed
I had a soft bag to hold all of my lightstands and umbrellas, but the zipper failed. Twice. So I started looking for a hard case to protect my stuff.

This one fits the bill. Wheels, positive latching, very sturdy. I noticed that the interior of the case has molded-in notches that look like they're designed for a divider system, but there doesn't seem to be anything of the sort of sale (yet?).

    PROS: Sturdy, well-made, less expensive.

CONS: A bit on the heavy side.

Awesome value. Hope they expand the line.
It's no Pelican, but its perfectly functional and works great. Sturdy and solid. A little stiff but I'm sure it will work itself in.

The only drawback is that I wish MP offered solid cit-to-fit foam option as well. I hate pick-n-pluck (of any sort - even Pelican) as it doesn't hold up with heavy items (like rifles). I did the "Plasti-dip spray" trick and it worked well, although the Plasti-dip shrinks the foam a bit. It works well for now, but I imagine getting solid foam and cutting it myself one day.

That's another drawback. Many foam vendors offer pre-cut inserts for name-brand cases and there are even online sites that will custom cut shapes from your template. I wish they supported this case as well. It doesn't perfectly match any of the Pelican, SKB, or Plano cases as far as I can tell.

    Good deal - case closed
Well built and unique size make this case valuable in so many ways. I only wish I had purchased at a sale price for a better deal. It runs out of stock a lot too...
