Great case! Well built with good seal fit, the small hinges and latches work well and allow small outside dimensions relative to the interior space. While the automatic vent looks a little cheap, it works ok. Perfect for those small fragile items where you want the protection of a IP67 case without the over sized outside latches and high price of the expensive brands. The label window on the side and stacking ability is nice as you will want several of these cases.
PROS: hinges, latch, and handle are proportional to small size of case
Label window on side allows marking contents
Cases stack (with a bit of front to back slide)
CONS: Lock hole interferes with hand space (cut off lock feature or use one or two fingers to carry)
Perfect utilitarian box. Strong, stout, and good value. Take it easy on the slide-out identifying label thing - I snapped mine in 1/4 of a second thinking I was pulling it out the right way when I wasn't really. Still functions and no complaints here just because I'm a gorilla.
PROS: - Stout - Exceptional value - Foam easy to use
CONS: - Might need to glue the top foam to the lid - The Monoprice logo is about 3 sizes too big on the lid haha
Bought this on a whim about a year ago, and I can say I love it. Small, but durable. I use this to hold glass items, and the contents tend to be somewhat...ah... odiferous, and the seals on this box keep everything discrete. It's been up mountains, and floated down rivers, dropped off moving vehicles, and set on fire once (I should really get new friends). Despite all that, this little box has never let anything inside it be damaged. Id say for the price, It cant be beat, but that would make it sound cheap. This is a great box. About to buy two more.
PROS: -Small -Airtight -Protects contents very well -Inexpensive -Has hole for lock -Three layers of foam. One on top, customizable one in the middle, and one thin one on the bottom. -Tight latches
CONS: -Really big sticker. on the top. (it comes off fairly easily though, without any marks.) -Would be nice if the foam on the inside of the lid was attached, but not a huge issue. -I don't have enough
I'm using this case for a Tascam DR-40 digital recorder. Nice firm fit after removing the appropriate amount of foam. You'd think the case was made for the unit. There is still room for a wired lavaliere mic, batteries and memory cards. Looks solid and the hinges and clasps hold tight.
PROS: Price, lockable, custom foam.
CONS: May be a little shallow for some items as it is a tight fit for anything over 1 inch thick.
For the price this is a little punch of success. I could't be happier with the size and function of this little case it works for many things, and fits my SW Shield perfectly. Not sure about water profess but it will definitely provide protection while stored away on the RV or boat.
PROS: just a good protective/water resistance safety/security box with a tab for a padlock.
I have 3 of these and they're great for subcompact pistols. They're small enough that I can drop it in my center console locked and unloaded to meet many state laws (depends on state - some require ammo in a separate container and the case in the rear of the vehicle). They seem sturdy and well made. I did remove the Monoprice sticker from mine for a clean look... They don't have the metal reinforced lock clasp like the big name brand, but all in all they're sturdy and a great value at this price.
This case is every bit as good as my Pelican brand cases. I haven't tested the water proof function, but don't intend to either. I've used it to make a travel watch case. It comfortably holds two large watches and has a deep slot to carry extra straps. The watches don't move at all and the case is slim enough to easily pack away in a suit case or backpack.
PROS: Very solid build, pick n pluck foam, can easily remove the HUGE monoprice badge, latches are tight
CONS: HUGE Monoprice badge on the top, pick n pluck foam is not perforated all the way through
