This video head features smooth, fluid dampened, 360° of horizontal, pan movement and ±90° tilt action. The pan and tilt dials are ruled for accurate reading of the angle offset. The removable mounting plate features both 1/4"x20 camera and a 3/8"x16 tripod head screw mounts. A 360-degree bubble level is situated underneath the mounting plate, while a horizontal and vertical pair of levels is positioned at the end of the mounting plate base, so you can be assured your mount is level before you start filming.

    Mystery Tripod Plate
This tripod holds up really well is super light. I took my MeFoto stock ballhead off and placed this thing on and it's a breeze for video work. Smooth and solid control in a petite size. I can still fold up the Mefoto into a small packable size.

My very big problem is the size of the plate. It's far too long and wide for DSLR's. I'd like to replace it with a smaller, square arca-swiss stlye plate. However, this plate is about 3mm wider than a normal arca-swiss plate making it impossible to buy different sizes or even a replacement.

Love the head but the plate is nonsense. This should have been mentioned in the product description.

    PROS: - minimal and light
    - smooth fluid head
    - Works well with MeFoto legs

    CONS: - proprietary plate

    Large Plate
I have seen the comment about the large plate size before and didn't pay much attention to it however I feel I now should mention that that this is a 'Video" head not a static photography head. I have not used or seen in person the head in question but I believe the large plate is so that a video camera can be balanced by sliding the plate forward and backwards on the head. The large plate accommodates this. It is common to have a video camera not locked down on a tripod so that it can be panned and tilted. Having the camera in a center balance position so that the camera and lens weight is centrally balanced and does not fall forward or backwards is what video tripod heads are about.
