Will this work on a DSLR? I have a few accessories such as: a mounted LED light, battery grip, mounted mic, etc. and am concerned that it wouldn't work properly.
    Micah H on Feb 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Weigh your rig all-up. It says works up to 2.1 lbs total. If you're under that with all the accessories, then you should be fine.
Can you use this with a monopod or selfie stick (with a standard 1/4"-20 screw) and still get the benefits of stabilization?
    John-Mark P on Jan 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As long as you can fit your equipment to the 1/4"-20 screw it should be ok, but it will all depend on the way how the weight is distributed. A selfie stick may shift the weight out too much that the counter balance may not be able to compensate for it.

    Works as advertised
I had never purchased a camera stabiliser in the past due to their typically high prices, but I just couldn't resist getting this one.

I tried this with a small Sony HD Camcorder (HDR-CX360) and it seems to work very well. It took only a few minutes to balance the camera on it, and I was able to start shooting some video.

The Stabilizer is of very good quality and all the pieces fit very well together. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

PROS: Relatively easy to balance camera on the stabilizer

    Much cheaper than other alternatives

Much easier than to make your own

    Nice comfortable grip

    Sturdy, quality built

CONS: No cons at this point.

Great product but....Poor threading job caused
poor threading on handle (trust me I checked them all) caused a bad mount that really upset me because it is one of the most minute but most important parts of a STABILIZER. That's the whole point for this product but they machined the threads at an off angle causing an off shot and having to compromise for it. The last thing I want to worry about since I had set up a video shoot for my team and realized that I had this issue. I understand that this stuff happens but man this was embarrassing.

PROS: Great low cost product, compact

CONS: not the greatest angle of rotation but still works. Poor poor threads.

It works! Why would you pay more? Great Purchase
Bottom line, want a stabilizer you can adjust? Want one that works with iPhones and DSLR's? At this price, what are you waiting for?

PROS: Simple, lightweight, easy to pack, fully adjustable. amazing results

    CONS: None for this price

I had long wanted to try a camera stabilizer product, but they were often very expensive or (at the cheap end) too small and lacked beneficial stabilization benefits.

This product represents a great valuereasonable price and good quality. I'm still in the process of trying it out more.

    PROS: Sturdy. Well finished.

CONS: A bit heavier than expected.

    Good value
Used stabilizers for larger cameras in the past, so will be trying this with a smaller camera. Seems to stabilize it well, as a first try. Looking to use this with student photographers to help them shoot higher quality video.

    PROS: Solid build quality

    Good pricing

    CONS: Only for small cameras

    Only one concern
    Time will tell.

PROS: Overall the unit seems well designed and solid for the price.

CONS: The one con so far could be a deal breaker - not sure yet. The "ball pivot" seems very lightweight and a possible weak spot. It is probably replacable by something better from a local photography shop, but it shouldn't hurt the manufacturer to beef up this all important piece. More of an issue with DSLRs than super lightweight camcorders. I'm sure.

seems a bit stiff, but I cannot really try it out. It smells so bad.

CONS: i mean it smells bad. Like a old Chinese steel factory.

    Response from Monoprice

Thank you for your review on PID 12276! I apologize for the smell issue experienced with this stabilizer. I have submitted a complaint regarding this so we can look into it further. If I may ask, can we try airing out the stabilizer over night to see if the smell improves at all? Please let me know you results so we can best assist you. We truly appreciate your time and feedback!
