Will this charger work with iPad Pro 9.7"?
    A shopper on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.

At a total power output of 2.4A, there should be enough power to charge your tablet.

What certifications does this product have? Is there a link to the certification by a CB?

Are the data pins shorted together to indicate to the connected device (e.g., cell phone) that it is a charger?
    Mann P on Mar 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Apparently NOT. It does not charge my Galaxy S5 Active without using a charge only cable. A data cable will not work.
Will this work on 240v outlet? (With an adapter that doesn't step down the voltage)
    A shopper on Jul 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: According to the images this will accept an input of 100-240V at 50 or 60 Hz.
What is the difference between 2.1Amps and 2.4Amps?
    Accounts P on Feb 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 2.4A provides more power so that your phone can charge faster. These days, most phones and tablets will come with a charger that is at least 2.4A.

The charging time will depend on the length of the USB cable that you are using. The longer the cable the less power flowing through it. So, a 3ft cable will charge significantly faster than a 10ft cable when using a charger that is 2.4A. I believe this is why all phones will come with a 3ft cable even though everybody complains that the cable is too short.
will this be identified as a fast charger for my note 4?
    David M on Jun 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: update. i have them now. it is NOT identified as a fast charger by my note4. it does charge fairly quickly but "fast charging" doesn't get enabled.
Does this work with USB 3.0 cables?
    A shopper on Jan 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the questions. This unit will accept your typical Male A style connection for usb 3.0 cables.
Will this stop charging once the device battery is full?
    New User U on Sep 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not in my experience. It is not a "smart charger". And though I have never had a device battery overheat after becoming fully charged, I don't leave devices on a charger, either.
Does this device come with a charging cable to connect to a micro usb android phone or do I have to purchase separately?
    John B on Dec 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, this item is only the wall charger itself so you will still need to buy your charging cables along with this item. I hope this helps, thank you!

    Requires Charge Only cable.
Bought 2, and they appeared to be DOA when checked with my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and HP Slate 7 tablet. I tried several different cables, including my original Samsung, same problem. My portable power packs and ZTE phone charged just fine. After seeing a post about data pins shorted together, I tried my 13166 cable with a Data/Charge-Only button. It worked in Charge-Only mode! Therefore, this is NOT a universal charger, because any Android device with USB Data enabled will mistake it for a data port and fail to charge when using a standard cable.

Doesn't work as advertised for iPhone
Bought 3 and all 3 output to an iPhone below 10% charge no more then 1.1 to 1.3 amps consistently, barely outputting 5.5 watts as measured by an accurate (tested) USB meter. output also is inconsistent with all 3 as the variation is between 4 to 6 watts during the same conditions, on the same phone. I am disappointed with this device and do not recommend it. I would like a full refund.

    PROS: None

CONS: Does not output as advertised

Bought 2 but only 1 still works
Bought 2 in early June and am using both. One still charges but the other charger became intermittent months ago. I kept thinking it was the cables but finally checked them and it is the wall charger. Cable plugged into my computer charges just fine. Never had a charger quit working.

    PROS: Charges fast if working.

CONS: 1 of 2 quit charging after 2 or 3 months.

    Quality for cheap
Excellent charger. It charges faster than any other 2.4A charger I have. I bought 2 and will get 2 more and never use anything else.

Failed in less than a month
I ordered two of these items. One of them has completely failed in less than a month's time, and the other one has just started to charge extremely slowly. I'm not sure what is going on, as I've never had issues from Monoprice products before.

PROS: Worked well when it worked.

CONS: Failed in such a short time that I'm a little boggled.

    Horrible charger- look elsewhere
This wasn't charging any of my devices particularly quickly, in fact it felt slower. I pulled out my usb voltage and amperage tester to check it out. With various devices including multiple iPhone, iPads, and Android devices, this unit cannot provide the amperage advertised. After a few seconds, the voltage drops from about 4.95 volts to 4.66 volts and the amperage drops from 1.2 amps to 0.7 amps. The unit should be capable of sustaining 5.0 volts and 2.4 amps and falls horribly short of that failing to even maintain an acceptable voltage in the 4.8-4.9 volt range. Don't bother with this product if you're looking for a high amperage charger.

    Not a 2.4A supply
I don't have an easy way to test how much power this is actually putting out, but I replaced a 2.4A Motorola power supply on my Raspberry Pi 3 that worked perfectly fine, and this one triggers the under power warning on the Pi. So, that was a waste of money.

A compact wall wart that does the job
Needed this when the one that came with my phone crapped out. It works well, charges the phone quickly, and does not block so much space that the other half of the outlet is inaccessible. Recommended.

    PROS: Small, quiet, works well.

    Works for nVidia Shield K1
I have been using this charger for my Shield K1. Works well and had no issues with it at all. As others say, it's not a very low profile charger but I am able to plug in another charger next to it without blocking the outlet. Charging rate seems fast enough so it is providing enough juice for even a tablet to charge on.

    PROS: Works as expected.
Inexpensive. The official multinational charger for the K1 is going for $30!

CONS: Not as small as some other chargers but does fit over a single outlet without overhanging other plugs.
