Is this safe for outdoor use uncovered, or should it have protection such as a roof or protected eaves?
    Nick R on Nov 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These speakers are IPX4 rated, which means it can be in an outdoor environment and is rated for mild to moderate moisture. It is recommended to install the speakers in a rain protected area, such as under eaves of a roof or patio.
How exactly do you connect this to an amplifier? I'm confused by the back panel on the subwoofer.
    Brian M on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Top row is for commercial 70 or 100V connections, this is for use as public address. The second row has 4 screw terminals for L/R +/- connection from conventional stereo amplifiers like your home stereo or multi-channel whole home system, up to 60W per side. The toggle switch on the top row switches from 80ohm and 70/100V. The last two rows are for the four satellite speakers each row handles 2 speakers.
Can these be used with a sound bar?
    A shopper on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: NO, this is NOT a powered subwoofer! I know because I searched for "powered subwoofer and this came up. I ordered it to find this is nothing but passive speakers and no use to me!
What is the total impedance of this system? 8 ohm?
    William M on Sep 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in this Background Music system. The subwoofer has left and right inputs for use in 8Ω mode. Each channel is 8Ω. You can run 2 complete BGM systems from one stereo amp safely. Total load to the amp will be 4Ω.
After reading the manual I realize that the entire system consisting of the subwoofer and the 4 satellite speakers acts like a single 70v device on my 70v chain of speakers. If I am understanding this correctly, I need to use the speaker wire size guidance for the low impedance speaker to connect the satellites to the subwoofer (e.g. so larger gauged wire) while still user smaller gauge wire from AMP to subwoofer?

Commercial Audio 240W 5ch 100/70V Mixer Amp with Microphone Priority (NO LOGO)
BEST ANSWER: The 4 satellites do connect to the sub as low imp. The power to each satellite is pretty small so I would not worry to much about wire gauge unless you are running more than 30 feet them.
Will this subwoofer work in conjunction with my existing home outdoor audio system?
    Christopher L on May 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Technically it can. It is designed to run with a simple stereo L/R output to the passive sub then connect to the satellites from the sub. It is a stereo system, not a 5.1 surround system.
Are the satellites wireless, or do they require speaker-wire connected to the sub-woofer?
    A shopper on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your interest in this outdoor speaker system. The satellites do need standard speaker cable to connect them to the subwoofer module. The four satellites are 8Ω. The sub module will accept low-impedance or 70V power, switchable. There are four satellite outputs from the sub module for the satellites. If you have any further question please contact tech support.
i have a sound bar and in the back got 1 out put for subwoofer can i use this subwoofer thanks ????
    Jose R on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The output on your soundbar is most likely a line level output which means it requires a power amp. The sub in the BGM system is non-amplified and requires an amp. You could use our small Unity 100W amp to power this sub.

What type of audio input is on the subwoofer's back panel?
    A shopper on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The subwoofer is non-amplified. It has bare wire terminals to be connected to an amplifier.
I bought this BGM system. What affordable amplifier do you recommend ? . I didn’t know this is a passive sub. It is a great price but because I need an amplifier it will be a different story .
    Oscar S on Dec 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I like the 18514 for the BGM system.

Commercial Audio 4x120W 4ch/4Zone Mixer Matrix 100/70V w/Digital Media Player (No Logo)
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in our commercial audio products. The 4x120 amp is advised to run 70V load to 96W max per output channel (x4). The BGM system has 60W and 30W taps with 70V operation. You can safely run 1 @ 60W and 1 @ 30W per output channel for a total of 8 BGM systems. You can run all BGM @ 30W and power 12 total systems.
Do Need to use the satellite speakers? Can I just use the sub with my 70v system? Can I use 4 of these subs with your 4x120w mixer/amp and also use the 6.5" 70v speakers? will all these components work together?

    Great Speaker
I waited a long time to buy these as there were no reviews online for them but finally pulled the trigger. These are great speakers and sound very good for a 70V system. I really like 70v for the ease of installation, but the sound can be very hallow a lot of the time. The sound with these is much more full and great for a more listening environment and not just background noise. if you are wanting full range high end sound these are not for you, if you are wanting much more full sound out of your 70v system that is easy and compact, this set is exactly what you are looking for.
