These strings are an excellent value. Some instruments are picky about the strings used on them mine is apparently one of them. The D, A, and E strings work great but my violin doesn't like the G for some reason and produces wolf tones when playing softly. I recommend you try these strings because they are great quality at a great price. I expect most instruments will accept them and they will work great. I have not experienced breakage, and they stay well in tune!
PROS: Comfortable to play Stay in tune. No breakage.
CONS: The G-string does not play too well on my violin when playing softly. Playing forte, it works fine!
I bought them to replace the low-low-quality strings on my low-quality electric violin, and they're a huge improvement. I suspect they'd be fine on an acoustic instrument also, especially for those of us who are still working on getting any good sound at all. =)
(I've been playing for a year. It's just really hard.)
I been playing on these strings for 2-3 weeks now... woke up this morning to find the A string broken, something seems off about the g string as well... they started off pretty well just turned into a quick disappointment . get what you pay for in this instance...
