    Where are they made?

BEST ANSWER: I have no idea where they are made. I can say that they're pretty nice and they've held up for the past six or eight months with no sign of crapping out anytime soon . Good price good product regardless of where they're manufactured at.

Great Hi Hats for a great price
Great set of B20 Hi Hats for anyone really besides perhaps a bronze connoisseur. I would recommend these to anyone, especially anyone looking for a first set of cymbals. Don't waste your money on "intro" or "beginner" cymbals when these sound far better for less money. You will be surprised at the quality of the product and the tone as well. If not there is always a return policy. I threw my boxes away after the first time I played them.

PROS: Quality made using B20 bronze

Great closed and open sound (open is a bit trashy

AWESOME value compared to ANY starter intermediate "big name" cymbal maker

Looks good, very physically presentable if gigging (if you care)

CONS: Not for me, but some may find the the "shimmer" tone a bit bright for a B20 set

Silly as it sounds I wouldn't mind if the Monoprice logo were a bit bigger.

    Dark, Washy... Sweet :)
I got these on sale for $20, but even for $80 these would have been a steal. My main hats are a 15 year old pair of Paiste Signature Dark Crisp hats. These days they go for about $500. Putting these up on the stand, the sound is definitely different, but not of an altogether lower quality. These are much thinner and produce a dark, wet wash. Very good for some jazzy hat work. The remind me of the old K's you hear on Coltrane records, or other records from the era. People pay top dollar for dark thin hats with K Constantinople, Kerope, Artizan, and Byzance stamps on them. I'm sure these aren't exactly the same as those high end hats, in the same way as they aren't exactly comparable to each other, but these Monoprice hats achieve a similar sound. Aside from the simple stamp, simple finishing, and rough edges, you wouldn't know that the Monoprice hats are any cheaper than those hats. Furthermore, while the thinness of the hats introduces the dark wash, the intrinsic brightness of the simple underhammered design of these hats also shines through. Providing nice articulation to the closed hi-hat sound. It doesn't have the beef and cut you'd want in a rock hat, but it means that you don't have to sacrifice articulation as much as you would with your typical "dark, washy" pair of hats. I really love these hats and they provide a great counterpoint to my Signature Dark Crisps if I need lower volume or more wash. I'm extremely happy to have these in my collection, and would have felt like I was getting a deal paying 10x more for them, had I known how good they sounded when I was considering buying them. I'm very happy I took a chance on them.

Really nice hats, for a budget.
I really enjoy these they are pretty good sounding for cheap hats. I would have rated them 5 stars but I got them for $19.99 which I think was a fantastic deal. But now that the price is back up I can't rate them 5 stars at full price.

    CONS: Cant think of any.

    Better than expected
I bought these as an upgrade to some cheap hats that came with my kit. These are much nicer. They're heavy, bright and loud. Nice an crisp. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I was really amazed at the quality of these hi-hats. Seriously, compared to the price of name-brand hats, you can't go wrong with these. I'd say they rival my friends' Zildjian new beats.

    Good Price, Good Poduct
I had bought the monoprice 20" Ride and 16" Crash a few months ago, and have been really pleased with them.
So, I was curious about the 14" Hi-hat set. I've been using a set of 13" Meinl HCS hats for the past 7 months, and for the price they're ok. But, for basically $20 more, I got these, and they're awesome!!

    PROS: Brighter

These were very bright to my ears, but I've never heard brand new (not dirty and tarnished) high-hats before. My drummer likes them a lot. They are not as loud as most, but this is a good thing especially for recording. They are heavy and definitely the real deal! My drummer likes them better than his more expensive ones.

Absolutely love them. Very bright sound, and responsive at any sound level. Unbelievable price, as I remember paying over $300. for my Zildjian K Customs, back in the day. Looking forward to playing, listening and reviewing Monoprice ride cymbal.

    Amazing for the price
I have to say that these hihats were a very pleasant surprise when I first tried them out. Nice solid chick sound, a bit on the medium to high side in pitch, nice sizzle when you open them a bit. I had read reviews saying that these hihats were really good and I agree. If you have a lot of money, you'd probably do better buying a pair of New Beats but these hihats definitely stand out among the beginner cymbals, ZBT, B8, etc., perhaps even a level above that, whatever those series might be. I don't understand how Monoprice can sell these at such a good price when they're supposedly hand hammered B20 bronze but they are really good.

    Nice Upgrade
I purchased these when they were 50% off and they are a vast improvement over my previous Hi-hats. They have a good sound that I (as an amateur) would be willing to record my set with these on. They have a presentable sound that isn't too harsh for my ears. They are a really good value in my opinion. I haven't played drums for long, but I'm am really happy with buying these. I will definitely think about getting the Monoprice crash after buying these.

PROS: Cheap. Vast improvement over starter set cymbals. Look good.

CONS: Not the best sounding when open.
