I can't see from the picture what the two conductors look like. Are they coloured and sheathed?

BEST ANSWER: This is a high quality cable. You have two 22ga wires in plastic, one is white and the other is red. Around the wires you have a thin tin foil shield and on top of that you have a braided wire shield. It is easy to solder. I am on my second spool with no problems.
    Is this 120 ohm cable?

BEST ANSWER: If your using this cable for DMX512 (digital Multiplex) protocol it works great. We are using it for a lighting rig of 60+ static, moving and LED theatrical fixtures. The length of run is approximately 800 feet. There are no markings on the cable as to an "ohm" rating. The electrical characteristics of DMX512 cable are specified in terms of impedance and capacitance, although there are often mechanical and other considerations that must be considered as well. Cable types that are appropriate for DMX512 usage will have a nominal characteristic impedance of 120 ohms. This cable is marked as DMX cable but there is no simple way to know for sure unless the manufacturer has additional information. Hope this helps.

    Good Value
I just used this wire along with Monoprice DMX connectors to make several DMX cables of various lengths. The quality seems consistent and sufficient for most DMX applications. I was worried that the wire would be difficult to strip due to the foil shield layer, but there is no adhesive used, so it was no issue at all. I would recommend this cable for any applications that do not require really rugged cables, as the rubber jacket is a little more flexible than I am used to. Not an issue for low-impact or permanent installations. No issues with packaging - cable was spooled onto a plastic spool and wrapped in plastic wrap.

    PROS: Good Value
    Consistent, good quality
    Easy to strip & solder

CONS: Not the most rugged cables
Internal plastic shielding melts very easily when soldering (but did not cause issues)

    Poor Packaging!!
Shipment packaging was grossly inadequate. Flimsy cardboard box. The end of the spool and much of the cable had come off in shipment. It was a huge tangled mess. Multiple labor hours wasted dealing with the mess. If I had time I would have sent it back for Mono to deal with. You can't package a flimsy plastic spool in a weak box with no support!!

PROS: Haven't tried the cable yet - but it looks fine
