I need to know if these are speaker cables?
    A shopper on Feb 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: this is a 1/4 inch stereo plug that can be used for speaker wire if your unit has that type of connection, on a professional type of equipment you need the mono style of plug or the connection with only one black line .One cable per speaker i think the gauge of the wire is between 22 and 18 good enough for short throws with a low power amp.Hope this helps

Should have got the strait jacks again
Out of 10 15FT TRS cables ordered only 1 arrived without damaged heat shrink on the connectors. The screw on cap has a lip that is smaller in diameter then the heat shrink+cable resulting in the heat shrink being cut/bent/pulled upon when the cap was pulled over it on the factory line. Also, none of the 1/4" right angle jacks make a complete connection where the seam of the two pieces meet. This seam can be opened and closed to varying gaps depending on how you hold the connector. All the cables test OK and I am sure they all will be fine however they don't present the quality I am used to receiving from Monoprice. If your gear gives you the option, avoid the right angle connectors until they can source better ones.

    PROS: good cost/quality ratio

CONS: poor 1/4" jack connections - seemingly not as quality as the straight TRS

    I call this the hose
It is a big fat cable that looks like a hose. Signal quality is good. I have gigged with this cable with no trouble. It is big and heavy though and looks like a hose.

I purchased two of these cable in 2013, one for my in-home studio use and one as a backup. After using one of them for 4+ years it unexpectedly failed with a short from tip to sleeve. When I replaced it with the unused backup cable I found it also had a tip to sleeve short out of the bag. I have been using trs and ts cables from Monoprice for years without a single failure. Upon inspection I found an internal manufacturing defect in the insulation of the black tip signal wire in both cables. Attached is a photo showing the defects. I am giving this cable a 4 star rating because I believe this is an isolated incident and Monoprice replaced the cables promptly at no charge with no questions asked. Thank you Monoprice, I will continue to use your products with confidence.
