Can I mount a normal bookshelf speakers like Klipsch RP-150M ? I need variable height..

BEST ANSWER: Not unless the speakers have a hole in the bottom designed for mounting on these kind of stands.
how does the air cushion thing work and where do you access it in the stand?
    Terry B on Jan 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You don't have to do anything to make the air cushion work. The functionality is just built in to the stands. What it does is prevent the speaker from dropping rapidly if you unscrew the lock that controls the height of the stand. Instead it will gradually lower to the bottom gently. These stands are rock solid and really well made.
Does the stand fit most pa speaker brands?
    A shopper on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have worked in the AV field for years and I would say these would fit most any PA speaker. There are some speakers I used years ago that you would need to pull the center pipe out and use the wider bottom end instead to couple the speaker to stand. You could do that with this stand if needed.

    Sturdy and Reliable
I put two 15" JBL EON speakers on one stand with a dual bracket adapter. This stand is the most affordable yet heavy duty enough to handle it. With about 80lbs. of weight on it, the stand showed no signs of visible stress.

The stand itself is pretty heavy compared to all of the other lightweight stands. The air cushion is nice when lowering heavy speakers.

    PROS: Strong. Air cushion.

    CONS: Heavy

Got these in. Regular shipping was fast. These are great stands at a great price and great service.
It's what I've come to expect from monoprice.

    PROS: Nice. surprisingly well built.

CONS: None. Only room for improvement I suppose is that the top plastic cap has a tendency to pop off when pulling a speaker from the pole.
    May 27, 2013

PROS: Surprisingly well built for this price and is already being useful!

CONS: Like all air cushion support stands you must know how to get the air cushion to release properly to open and close the stands. The addition of an instruction sheet would help for those that haven't used a stand with that valuable safety feature.

Nice speaker stands at nice price!
Excellent product at half of what comparable stands run. Excellent ship time. Thanks!

PROS: These are nice well made stands at a better price than you'll find inferior stands on stage for, if you catch my drift. Others reviews had me concerned about weight. Don't be. They're well made, but not boat anchors. They weigh what i feel a Hercules type stand would weigh.

CONS: People say they're using these for lights too. Certainly strong enough for that, but not quite tall enough. But, hey, it's a speaker stand that'll hold Mackie SRM 450s, Yamaha MSR 400s , Thump, or QSC K and KW series powered speakers with no trouble at all.

Flimsy - does NOT have the rated 150lb capacity
I loved these at first, but after a few night's use, the straps for both stands holding the riser pin fell apart. That's not such a big deal. What is a big deal is that the nut holding the tripod compression fitting stripped under moderate pressure... after I'd mounted the speaker, the threading let loose, dropping the entire stand, which then fell on top of me. I don't recommend trying to catch a 50lb speaker. I don't know whether the riser pole bent before or after the fall, but it sure does curve a little now. =(

    PROS: Cheap

CONS: Cheap. Smells like cat urine (seriously). Broke after only a few uses.

I was looking for a second pair of speaker stands, but I was a bit skeptical of the quality because of the price. I received the shipment fairly quickly and the shipping price was cheaper than me picking up locally in LA. The first stand was expanded properly with no problem. The second stand had an issue with the wing bolt and retaining nut being threaded properly. I was nearly about to return the stands, but I took the wing bolt and nut and rethreaded it. Glad I kept the stands, because they're better than the OnStage Extreme stands I have now. The only gripe I really have is that it did not come with a bag and I had to go out and spend another $20+ for an OnStage Stands bag. I also see people complain that they are heavier than your average stand. In my case, I wanted a heavier stand to support heavier CV speakers I plan to purchase in the near future. So what if they're a couple pounds heavier. If it came with a quality bag, I would have rated a perfect score.

PROS: Supports heavier speakers, air cushion is a plus. All black with no funky colors.

CONS: No bag. Retaining nuts are hard plastic. Rubber or a rubber backing would have been better to give a better grip.

    Solid stands great price
I recommend these speaker stands with no reservations.

PROS: Solid, well-built speaker stands. Great value.

    CONS: No bag

    Great stands for the price
These are fine stands and should hold up to regular use in many settings. I used them to hold 2 mid-size PA speakers, about 20 lbs each. It takes only a couple of minutes to loosen the set screws, unfold the feet, raise the stand to the desired height, and use the lock pin to hold the stand at the right height.

These speakers are heavier than I need, but that means they'll last a long time. I'm very pleased.

My only minor issues are that some of the holes were not drilled properly so I had to work at them for a bit so I could insert the locking pin, and (2) for the price I would have hoped for a heavy-duty nylon carrying bag. Other vendors sell comparable stands with an included bag.

These are minor, though. The stands are very good!

PROS: Well-built and sturdy, easy to use, cost

CONS: Holes not all drilled properly for he price should have included a carrying bag
    June 15, 2015
The stands are very sturdy and provide a good base for me to mount my speakers. Unfortunately, after a few uses, they have become increasngly difficult to collapse and the height adjustment clamp will no longer release properly on one of them, so you must fight it when you raise and lower the speaker.

    PROS: Sturdy, adjustable, nice finish

    CONS: Hard to adjust

    Works but nothing special
Decided to give these guys a try due to price and that they had air cushion. They work as they're suppose to, but I found that the air cushion didn't really do much, even on my light weight K12s. My team and I primarily use Gator stands because they have an assistant lift built-in which makes all the difference in setup, especially when you have a lot of speakers to bring up and down (my girlfriend who is a lot shorter than me can setup speakers with the Gator stands pretty easyily). I will probably be sticking to those even though they cost twice as much. I do believe that they are better than our first pairs of On-Stage stands though!
