Why do these pin spots only come in white? That is very odd. Black should be the standard color.
    Curtis C on May 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: That is a good point Curtis. Have you considered painting yours black or covering it and gaff tape?
How Narrow is the Beam of the light? I want to use it for lighting flower arrangements. How true White is the color of it?
    A shopper on Jun 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I didn't measure the beam angle, but it is very tight, I would estimate it at less than 5 degrees. Probably not the best for lighting flowers unless you are mounting it far away. The white is not quite prefect either. At the edges of the light spot, there are R,G&B artifacts probably resulting from using either 3 LED units or a single unit where the color elements are spaced far apart. For my purposes it was very good, but for you it might not be. If you are looking for just white, I wouldn't bother with an RGB anyway.
Does this light need DMX to power it?
    A shopper on May 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, you can controls the color manually, it can do a slow automatic change, or you can change the red, blue, and yellow to make any color. Not the most convenient to change but if you really don't want to change the color often it's a good price.

Lot's of Bleed.. Not bright... Plug on side sticks out... Don't Buy it!
Cheap and you get what you pay for with this light... Don't waste your money... invest in a real spot that is brighter and works like a real spot light, without bleed over, especially when using white. Also... the menu is very confusing and instruction are poorly written. So far, most of the DJ lights have been very disappointing.

    PROS: None

CONS: Way too much bleed over from one color to the next, especially if you're looking to use this as a "WHITE" only spot light.. lot's of colors all around the edges of the white spot. It's really noticeable. Also... the other CON is where they decided to put the Power cord plug in. It's on the side of the light opposed to the back of the light, where most other lights put the power cord input.

    Response from Monoprice

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 612210. I just wanted to mention that in order to use this as a white only spot light, you would need to turn the Red, Green, and Blue LEDs all the way down and the White LED all the way up. We have a video showing this at the following link:

You can see the white only light at 0:48 seconds in. Before that, all LEDs are turned up and show the bleeding mentioned. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any questions!

I bought a pair of these for attaching to box truss, and focusing on a mirror ball, and they'll work just fine for that purpose. I would NOT consider using them for throws over 15 - feet. They're just not powerful enough to pull that off.

    PROS: Lightweight

    fan cooled

    nice color mixing.

CONS: Colors don't line up cleanly - edges of color show.

The external power supply is clunky.

    Limited chase patterns without DMX

Nice little light, but not bright
I should have known better- a LED multicolor pinspot in this price range? Against my intuition, I ordered one of these to try. Set it up 12 feet from the disco ball and powered it up. The beam is much wider than it should be at even this distance- it needs a 10 degree lens as well as the one supplied. Focused ok, but the brightness is just not there. Even in a dark room there are not enough lumens to get a decent reflection off the mirror ball.

Unfortunately, this light is not worth the money at all, even though it isn't much money. Don't waste yours on this light.

    PROS: Fast shipping

    CONS: Everything else

    Good for non-specific spots
I mounted four of these 12 ft above my stage for a down spotlight with about 2 1/2ft diameter circle on the floor on performers and they worked perfectly. I could see using them from about 20 ft away, but no further. Best used in close proximity for dramatic spots. DMX is nice.

Haven't tried chases or master/slave functions yet.

    Uses: Theater, Concerts, Presentations, displays

    PROS: Bright, color-blending, versatile mounting

CONS: Flickers, color lenses don't line up, little focus control

Great little spot that really shines!

PROS: The perfect spot for my bedroom mirror ball! This replaced a PAR36 INCANDESCENT spot that loved to burn bulbs up. I have the killer sound system that lacks DMX equipment and hope I can connect this baby to show me all it can do to music. Otherwise the manual programming on the unit is a plus. I won't get bored with this jewel for a long time. I may have to order more and highly recommend based on initial usage.

CONS: no microphone. I had to mount it on a piece of wood.

    Brighter than anticipated
Many of the reviews state this as not being very bright. For the price and size, its very bright. This is not a stage light but could work great for lighting up a disco ball or highlighting a close range subject. A lot of color options consider it has RGBW

Nice, bright little light for its size
I like the full RGB mixing and the tight little spot that it shines on my disco ball ;)

    Great product, Great Price
I used this in our karaoke room on a disco ball. Works perfectly.

PROS: Alternating 4 Color LED setup. Quite and relatively small.

Works Well, Some flickering on TV cameras
These are decent little lights. Easy to set up, intuitive menu, put out quite a bit of light. The fans can be heard, but don't put out too much noise. This is a spot and it is not adjustable. It projects about a 2 feet circle at a distance of 10 feet. The XLR connections and the power connection block the positioning of the mounting bracket in some positions. I was hoping to use these as wall uplight accents, but the distribution pattern isn't wide enough. You do get a decent strip or streak of light, but nothing very wide.

PROS: Price, Small, lightweight, DMX controllable, puts out a fair amount of light

CONS: Some flickering seen on TV cameras when used with levels under 50% (common with lower end LEDs). Fans. Plug placement makes it hard to position in certain ways. 4 Colors do not line up perfectly and you can see some bleed of each separate color.

    Not bad for the price
This spot is not for when you need to really light something up in a bright room. It is good for putting a cold circle spot on something where there is not a lot of other ambient light.
