How many of these can you chain together?
    A shopper on Jan 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Using the line-out you can daisy-chain an unlimited amount of speakers together. Be aware of power consumption.
Would these be loud Enough for outdoor movie nights hooked to a projector?
    Josh S on Dec 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It would depend, of course, on how many people, how big an area? But these are capable of a lot of volume, and covering quite a large area. Without knowing the exact specifics of your venue, I would say "most likely yes".
If I chain two together and use a CD player will the speakers play in stereo or just dual mono?
    New User U on Sep 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Dual Mono. The only way two have a true stereo output is if you split the CD output with Left channel going to one speaker and the Right channel going to another. I have connected a phone to a single speaker and it does sound good when combining left and right channels together. Something to think about if you separate the channels with these speakers is that you don't want to place them too far from each other as some music will sound odd hearing mostly one channel over the other. That is why a lot of chained speakers it's best to just used mono audio to avoid that oddity.
Would this work well as an additional powered monitor for a live sound system?
    Amanda K on Jun 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would say absolutely. It has the balance line in available and great sound. I use it primarily have a keyboard amp. And you can lay it down or place it on the speaker stand .
Is the output line amplified on the Stage Right 150-Watt 15-inch BiAmplified Powered PA Speaker?
    Jesse W on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Nope. It is just line out. That way, you can hook two of these up together without blowing one of them :)
When running 2 as a stereo pair using RCA line-in, is it OK to connect to only the L or R input on each?
Or is it better to split the signal into both L & R inputs on each speaker?
    paul o on Mar 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Split the signature out of the source. If you daisy chain two of the monitors your get dual mono, not stereo. Dual mono can be convenient, but not a stereo experience.
Does this have a tripod socket in the base?
    A shopper on Feb 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The stand may be called a tripod stand because of its 3 legged base, but the part that connects to the monitor is a 35mm tube that fits into a similarly sized socket in the monitor. It is not like a screw camera tripod mount.
Can you mount this stage right speaker using a stand?
    A shopper on Mar 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The stand set that monoprice sells works perfectly with this speaker. The stand set is really great quality as well. I bought both the speaker and set of stands and I am very happy with both.
Generally to your knowledge and specifically for this speaker, is there a way it can be used as a passive speaker?

If you’re on the fence about these, don't hesitate!
I work as a mobile DJ entertaining at weddings and have long used all monoprice cables for my gear. When I head they were getting into pro audio I was naturally excited about the product line. I was using a pair of 8 inch powered PA speakers (class AB amplification along with two subs) and looking for something with more power. Last month, I decided to go all in, sold my old speakers and ordered a pair of these sight unseen. First time I used them was at a wedding, and thankfully my gamble paid off in a big way because these speakers are amazing!

They sound great with good highs, mids, and lows. The class D amplification is nice because you achieve a lot of power without a lot of electricity or heat. I can drive these speakers hard and get a lot of volume before they start clipping. At small or medium sized venues I would be confident using a pair of these without subs. They accept a wide variety of inputs and the line out allows you to daisy chain these or pass the signal through to subwoofers which I do. There is a knob to adjust the signal strength separate from the volume so you can give a strong signal to other speakers in the chain without cranking the volume on the first which is a great feature. For ceremonies I can run a single speaker off of a battery/ 200 watt inverter combo no problem.

The speakers are big, but deceptively light. The handles make it easy to mount them on stands or carry and the wheels are a nice touch. My one complaint is that the speakers have a round top so you can't stack one on top of the other and wheel them around together.

I opened up these speakers to examine the guts and the insides are clean and nicely put together with well secured boards and drivers and nicely soldered connections. Not that I plan on blowing a speaker driver but it is nice to know with these cabinets they are easy to replace.

I would expect to pay twice or three times what I did for a speaker of this caliber. As is after buying these I feel like I robbed a guitar center. A+

PROS: Class D amplification, powerful, solid construction, easy to take apart/modify, sound fantastic, easy to transport.

    CONS: Not stackable

    Unbelievable Value
I have purchased two of these speakers to use for band rehearsals and general indoor PA use. I have found them to be an unbelievable value. They are surprisingly lightweight considering their size, but they also have two wheels so you can roll them if needed (very convenient). There's a good selection of inputs & output jacks along with volume and tone controls. Sonically, I can say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a set of other powered speakers that I had paid more for and these moonrise speakers sounded much better. There was more clarity and better low-end. For the price, there's nothing even remotely close on the market.

    PROS: Lightweight
    Various inputs and output jacks
    Sound Good

    CONS: Only 150 Watts

    Ok speakers ..great price tho!!
When I dj a very big venue these speaker are great to setup for the back of the room to add as sound reinforcement, I use these so I I don't have to over power my front speakers for the rear of the room to hear. Since I already own 18inch subs the lack of bass is not a big deal. Great price and value, I wouldn't use these as my main speakers but would work as backup.

PROS: Light weight, clear highs . Decent sound!! Really cheap!! Look like a very serviceable speaker!!

CONS: My speakers came dead on arrival I unscrew the screws on the back and saw a wire that was unsolder. Solder the wire back and everything worked fine.

For this price, you can't go wrong
I bought a pair to use as powered speakers off my Eleven Rack. I'm not currently gigging, so I can't comment as to how they hold up on stage, but in my practice room, they are outstanding. Most of the time, my computer audio is also running through them. They are on the bright sounding side, but the controls seem to provide enough balance that it is not objectionable.
I bought these on sale, but the sale price didn't include free shipping. The actual end total was within $5 of what it would have been at regular price with free shipping. If you need good powered PA speakers for not a lot of money, you can't go wrong with these.

    PROS: Very light.
    Very powerful.

CONS: If you're not using these on mounting stands, make sure the lock screws are tight. I thought I had a bad tweeter due to noise when it got loud. Turned out to be the locking screw rattling.

    Excellent Speaker for the price!!!
For the price , I was expecting something of less quality, but no, this speaker totally rocks!!! The sound coming out of it is very, very good, nice decent bass (remember we're only talking about 250 watts) and crisp high notes coming out of the tweeter, I'm impressed, from the price point, it can't get better than this!!!

PROS: Excellent sound, good construction, made out of very hard plastic, good acoustic, price , unbeatable.

CONS: The box that came in, lacked of protection, the speaker came with a a dent, not much, but it had to be mentioned, besides that, everything else, was of my pleasing.....

Just exactly what I was looking for
To be honest I have only had the pair I ordered for a short time and have only listened to them at a moderate volume level. (I didn't want to disturb my neighbors too much)
As others have mentioned in past reviews , one of the grills was dented on receipt. Not too noticeable, but still a dent. I think the sound quality is exceptional for a speaker at this price point. The balance between highs and lows is quite good. The cabinets are attractive and the visible build quality is excellent. I have not opened the cases and looked inside, but I hear no rattles or buzzing at any frequency or volume level. The controls on the back are smooth and work as expected.
I plan to use them as the main speakers for a portable outdoor theater system, and for that purpose I think they will be excellent.

    Great for gigs
I bought this speaker for Karaoke nights and it sounds great! I plug a mic in the mic input, then my keyboard in the line input and it is a great little setup that is easy to transport. I think the sound quality is very good and it seems lighter than the size it is. I am very tempted to buy another one to have a stereo system. That's always a good test of quality, if you are willing to buy it again!!

    Outstanding Speaker!!!
I haven't found anything that I don't like about this speaker. It has great clarity and nice bass. The wheels make it easy to drag around and it is light enough that you don't really need the wheels. All around great buy! Thanks Monoprice, you're products are awesome!

PROS: Great sound, great bass, plenty of power, and easy to take around

CONS: None that I have found

    So far, very good.
Our band plays small bars and 'beer garden' types of gigs for the most part. The PA we use is pretty basic a powered Carvin powered mixer with 3 amps: Left main, right main, & monitor. The Carvin head also has an XLR line level out for each amp. That's where these speakers come in. We still use the power amps for the passive mains, but now can supplement this with the Monoprice powered speakers for added punch without worrying about overdriving the amps. We simple put these on top of the passive speakers and adjust the volume to either match their level or add more oomph. These speakers added a nice, full, top to bottom sound. I'm not expecting to fill a stadium with these speakers, but for the price they are worth looking into. By the way, after I bought them I noticed they went on sale. Called Customer Service and they did me a solid by giving me store credit for the difference.

PROS: Price point build seems pretty solid.

CONS: None so far. Pretty new to our arsenal summer gigs are just startingif you don't here from me by the end of the summer you can assume I have no complaints!
