what is the LINK jack used for and is it a 2 conductor or 3 conductor (TRS) jack?
    David G on Dec 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Link is a 1/4” TRS that can be used to link multiple headphone amps together using a single TRS cable, Or you can use it to connect from the source headphone TRS output instead of using the RCA jacks. It is wired in parallel with the RCA jacks.
Can this be used for recording on laptop by running Audacity? I will be recording some notes that I am plan to listen later. My setup will look like below.
    HeadSet -----> Amp Device ----> Laptop(Audacity).

    RameshKumar N on Apr 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The setup you show implies that you want to monitor (headphones) an audio source while recording it (Laptop-Audacity). If you add an input source of the audio that you wish to record to your setup (Input to the 4-channel headphone amp), then yes, this will do the job. But as originally described, you have no source for the audio (notes that I plan to listen to later).
Does the 1/4 input provide stereo as well, or only mono?
    A shopper on Apr 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I ran a stereo 1/4 cable into it for stereo and it worked great for me. I didn't try a mono cable so I have no idea how that works.
Will the mono switch help detect if one of the stereo channels is out of phase? In other words, if the left channel is 180 degrees out of phase from the right, this can be difficult to detect with headphones, but if the channels are summed to mono, the cancellation should be audible in each ear. Is this the case with this mono switch?
    New User U on Feb 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, when switched to mono it will combine signals. If you are out of phase you will hear a significant drop in signal.
I am considering using it with a turntable with a built-in preamp. Would it suffice if I intend to use it with the Audio Technica ATH-M50X?
    New User U on Jan 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes this headphone amp will work with any line level devise.

    Beware: Channel bleed!
If you have audio running into the unit, and more than one set of headphones plugged in, you can hear audio bleed into another set of headphones when the volume knob is turned ALL THE WAY DOWN! Monoprice claimed that this was a defective unit. I was skeptical and followed their advice to do an RMA. The second unit arrived with the same issue. They again claimed this was a defective unit. They would not listen that THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, not an issue with individual units. If the volume is turned down on that headphone channel, NO SOUND SHOULD COME OUT! The point of having four individual volume knobs is to adjust the volume individually i.e. one volume knob shouldn't affect the others. Beware of this channel bled defect!

PROS: Well built. Different input types. Headphone jacks are on the front.

    CONS: Channel bleed!

Good unit, but with a crosstalk issue
Nice unit for the price. the only downside I can see is that multiple headsets are connected and you turn down the set you are listening to, you still get a lower volume signal to your phones that sounds similar to a subwoofer running by itself. I am guessing that this is because the four knobs control the output of a single amplifier, but I am not sure, since I haven't opened it up or looked at a schematic.

Bottom line: For the low price this is a great deal. Just be aware of the cross talk issue.

PROS: Inexpensive, solidly built metal case, good solid sound, drives headphones better than computer or phone audio out..

CONS: Cross talk between headphone outputs. Great for the price, though.

    First one was a dud
I'll update when I get the next unit.

PROS: Look solid. Sounded Great - until I plugged in the 2nd set of headphones. They I started loosing audio.

CONS: With small ear buds and the volume knob all the way down i still hear audio.

    A Good basic headphone mixer
I needed something to send a headphone feed to a couple of people in another room for a project. This basic little headphone mixer did the trick. It's stereo only but for me that was just what I needed. For the price you can't go wrong.

    615220 4-channel Headphone Amplifier
    Terrific company and terrific product.

PROS: I am very happy with this product. I have a slight hearing deficiency. This 4 chanel headphone amp solved my problem while watching TV. I can now hear the dialog a lot better. My wife can listen to a normal level sound volume while watching TV and I can turn the volume up or down for my own personal listening level.

This has made for very happy viewing.

Thanks Monoprice for your excellent product, expediant shipping and careful shipping of my product.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Monorprice nor this product to other perspective buyers.

CONS: None that I can think of other than the bright yellow light on light.

This is a great little headphone amp. I use it as a cheap alternative to in-ear systems in churches.

PROS: Small, quality built, inexpensive. Good value for the money. Has 4 1/4 inch outputs and a mono/stereo switch

    CONS: None

    Perfect box for recording
I saw this at NAMM 2014. It was just what I needed. I have passive headphone boxes that I built years ago, but all my headphones, and the artists's headphones have different sensitivities and impedances. I'm often sending to 4 headphones while cutting tracks, and now I am able to give each musician their own level. I already had the Monoprice 1/4" TRS to TRS cables that I now use with this box. A small amount to spend to achieve such a big improvement in live recording.

    PROS: Simple, small and inexpensive.

    Monoprice delivers again!
Solid little 4 channel headphone amp. I've only tested with 1/4" TRS in, but haven't experienced the crosstalk that other reviewers have complained of, even at mixed hi/low/silent volumes. I've also used this with different loads (some 600O studio cans, some 25-50O) and though the 600O load is certainly noticeably quieter, it's still plenty of volume for recording monitoring purposes.

PROS: Excellent value, plenty of power, reasonably durable

    CONS: None experienced
