EQ Booster Pedal
Independently boost or attenuate high and low frequencies with this EQ Boost Pedal from Monoprice!
This pedal features a low frequency equalizer, which operates on frequencies below 250 Hz, and a high frequency equalizer, which operates on frequencies above 1kHz. Each equalizer allows for ±14dB of adjustment, making this pedal well suited for use as a clean boost or to match the volume output of different guitars. The pedal features true bypass, so it won't alter your tone when not actively in use.
The casing is metal for long term durability. It is powered using either a 9VDC power adapter with a negative tip/center, such as our 9V Power Supply for Guitar Pedals (PID 611690) or a 9V alkaline battery (not included).

PROS: Very Well Built. Battery included.
The pedal has solid construction, metal box with an attractive finish, the switch feels good (it will stay on most of the time so it probably will not wear out on me) The bottom is full soft rubber that offers insane grip on smooth surfaces. The knobs have good resistance to them, they kind of feel like plastic with a chrome finish.
The pedal arrived today and I was very excited to put it to the test, first thing I checked was that it was in fact true bypass and it indeed is, signal gets through without any power source in the pedal. I then fired it up with all settings at 12 o'clock and compared it on and off, and was pleased to see that it was very close to the natural sound of the amp. I then played around with the settings and was immediately in love with the sound, with the bass at 2 o'clock it gave me the bottom end I was looking for all along in this amp. Keeping the Treble at around 1 gave me a tone that was not crazily different than my amp, but that fine tuned it to be that much better. The pedal also gives a little volume boost when the eq is turned up, and this would work great as a clean boost. When the pedal is on it is SILENT! there is no noticeable hum when engaged, and when the level is cranked there is just a slight hiss, but when using it to match the amp volume, you will not hear any unwanted sounds out of this.
-does not color the sound
-no hum or buzzing
CONS: -Limited EQ options (just bass and treble)
-Longevity unknown (but feels like it can take a fair bit of abuse)
PROS: Silent, rugged, cheap, good tone stack, button is tactile and knobs are sufficiently stiff. Even comes with a battery.
CONS: The knobs obscure the LED indicator if you aren't right over the pedal.
PROS: works and sounds great. sturdy.cheap.
PROS: No noise, good volume, very basic bass and treble EQ
CONS: The EQ consists of just one bass and one treble knob, but that is pretty much all that is necessary, especially for the price.

Still, useful for a modest boost with some EQ control.
