    Distortion Mini Pedal

Add distortion to your pedal board with this Distortion Mini Pedal from Monoprice!

This mini pedal produces a modern classic tone for ROCK solid performance. It features a variable distortion effect, with high level control. A toggle switch lets you switch between normal distortion and Crunch mode for an extra heavy response. The tone knob adjusts the color of the distorted signal, while the distortion knob controls how much distortion is applied. The pedal features true bypass, so it won't alter your tone when not actively in use.

The casing is metal for long term durability. It is powered using a 9VDC power adapter with a negative tip/center, such as our 9V Power Supply for Guitar Pedals (PID 611690). Note that the manual erroenously lists the DC connector size as 3.5/1.1mm. The connector is actually 5.5/2.1mm, which is the same as that of the 611690 power supply. The manual will be updated and posted here as soon as possible.

This reminds me of an old MXR Distortion+. It has a great raspy tone with a high-end shimmer. The controls have a wide effect giving me enough range to dial in just the right about of distortion for the guitar and amp combination. The Crunch/Normal switch gently scoops out the mids enough for you to tell but not too much like a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. This is a keeper and a great value for it's price. It's worth $100 or more based on it's tone. I tested this stompbox with a stock Ibanez RG550, a stock Monoprice Telecaster, and a Les Paul Standard (with a Duncan Full Shred in the bridge) plugged into a stock Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 1x12 combo using the clean channel, input #2, and all EQs set to 12:00. I adjusted Presence to taste.

    Great for the price
for the price it's a great pick up for any pedal board. but the crunch doesn't really do anything but up the volume. still happy with the pedal. if i could i would give an 8.5.

PROS: good sound, small and bright.

CONS: the crunch just makes it louder.

    super mini
no words can express my feelings to have a good pedals in cheaper price, most comments are having concern about a little bit noisy.come on, even high end distortion has a little bit noisy sounds.

    PROS: inexpensive but quality pedal.

    CONS: none

    Great for the money
This is a great pedal for the price. I got both the overdrive and this Distortion pedal from monoprice and I'm happy with it. the only thing that is is a con with the pedal is that when you switch from normal to crunch it just makes it louder.. I was hoping for a more "crunch" sound. But i only used it a handful of times and it could be the setting of the low or high that makes more of a crunch sound. other then that I'm happy with the pedal.

PROS: small sounds good and price.

CONS: Crunch setting just makes it louder.

    Little distortion pedal
It's pretty dern good, especially for the price. I need a few more
pedals but this is a start. I'm a retired musician Putting a little
studio together on a BUDGET!!!!!!!! So this is a bargain and I
    would recommend it highly.

    Great buy!
Initial impression: Sounds and looks good, nicely crafted and seems that it was build to last, simple to operate, excellent price, good for the beginner or intermediate level guitar player

    This thing is awesome
First is was the price that got my attention, but the pedal performs very well. You can control the amount of distortion, as well as the tone, giving you a myriad of sounds. It's slightly noisier than some more expensive pedals, but overall it's a good bang for the buck. Plus, it doesn't take up much space on my pedal board. I'd high recommend this pedal!

    Great sound
Would give this pedal 4-5 stars no matter the price. Better sound than many pedals at a much higher price. Just not the biggest fan of these new tiny pedal faze that can't hold a battery INSIDE, and even though they save space, when you have big feet like me you can't pack them together anyways. Still would highly recommend this one.

    Great sound
A bit noisy, needs a noise gate to go along with it, but that's true of many distortion pedals. Other than the noise, the sound itself is great.

The distortion knob and the Crunch/Normal switch don't really have much range to them. What you can do to get a bit of a cleaner tone (though still dirty) out of this is turn the volume on your guitar down so it doesn't push the circuit as much and then turn it back up when you want full on in your face compressed clipping distortion.
