These are metal bases not plastic correct?
    A shopper on May 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the base is a metal disk...the whole thing is metal except for the cushion for the guitar neck.
Will it hold in dry wall?
    John S on Mar 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it does come with two screws and two ripped plastic anchors, For my wall I normally try to use the studs for all my guitars but if for some reasons you can’t I’ll recommend getting some stronger anchors from Home Depot. Anyway the price is so good and the product is very heavy duty and no way you can go wrong.
Does the foam covered U where the guitar sits spin around?
    Steven M on Dec 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. This is particularly important for me because of non-symmetrical headstocks (fender, etc). (Can even modify them to be kid proof)

easily modified to be Kid proof!
Better than anything triple the price.

    Subtle features:
    - 2 paralell screws enables proper stud mounting
    - gently swivels to allow for non-symetrical headstocks (fender, etc)
    - removed plastic caps, trimmed foam 1/4 inch and superglued them back on. Add black rubber-band etc and it becomes kid-proof! Not even the $20+ Hercules ones can claim that!

    Works great
Bought two to hold guitars on my office wall. The mounts are fine, but I didn't trust the dry wall. I've heard horror stories. So I mounted a board to the wall first, then mounted the holders to that. Working fine so far.

PROS: Does exactly what it's supposed to do: hold my guitars.

    CONS: None

    Good basic instrument hanger
I bought 2 of these because unlike other major brands, Monoprice actually provided helpful dimensions on the product page. I have 2 basses, one is a Tune 4-string with a narrow headstock, the other is an ESP LTD 5-string with the wider neck that goes along with it and a wide headstock. I was concerned that I might not be able to get identical hangers that would accommodate both basses, but the listed dimensions seemed like this one would work, and it does. I have no worries about either bass coming out of the wall mount.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the included screws seem insufficient for a heavy instrument. For me, this was only a very minor issue, as already had on hand some better screws/anchers (Cobra Triple-Grip: I use them for mounting everything on the wall - I have used them extensively with both drywall and plaster/lath).

One thing that is not clear from the product page is whether the hangers swivel. In fact, the padded arms are on a screw that screws into the black part. As long as it is not screwed in tight (and it probably won't be level if you do screw it tight), it will swivel. My 5-string has an asymmetrical headstock and it works fine.

As with most Monoprice products, it may not be quite as fancy or look quite as cool as the namebrand that costs 2-4x as much, but it's a solid product that does what it's supposed to do.

PROS: Solid construction, securely holds a range of neck/headstock sizes

    CONS: Included screws/anchors seem insufficent

PROS: Its a guitar hanger, it hangs guitars.. I printed off some hangers for my guitars on my 3d printer but they are plastic and could mar the guitar if heavily used, so I decided to order these, they are padded and metal so they can hold the heaviest solid bodies if screwed into a solid base, yet wont mar the neck finish due to the padding.. Very nice for the money , as with most Monoprice stuff, great value , looks good, a great item.

    CONS: None.

I have four guitars and two of them were on the wall already with name brand wall hooks. I wanted to mount the other two guitars, but name brand hooks were very overpriced and sometimes cost well over $15. The Monoprice hooks look and feel exactly the same and look great on the wall with my guitars hanging in them. Glad I found them here.

    PROS: Easy to hang

    No different than name brand

    Good quality

Not sure what to say about a guitar mount. It's still holding just fine drilled directly into a 2x10, supporting a Route 66 Modern. Make sure you don't mount it too close to the ceiling, especially if you leave a clip-on tuner on your headstock.

Works great, even for heavy bass guitars
I bought a pair of these for my bedroom. I was careful to mount both of them to studs rather than using drywall anchors. One is used for my '86 Charvel 3B bass guitar, which is heavy for guitar at nearly 10 lbs. The other is used for an acoustic mandolin, and the hanger works well for this. No problems with either one, and it frees up floor space since I don't need the floor stands anymore.

    PROS: - Inexpensive

    - Works fine even with heavy bass guitars
