Was this guitar setup, tuned, and inspected by Master Luthier Roger Gresco?
    A shopper on Aug 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in our Indio guitars. All of our guitars are inspected and set-up by Mr. Gresco and his team.
Does this guitar use the same bolt pattern as standard Fender telecaster guitars with the modern C neck? In other words, if I already have a spare Fender MiM modern C neck, could I replace the stock Indio neck with my MiM neck ?
    Anthony J on Mar 25, 2018
    BEST ANSWER: Hi Anthony,
I own the Monoprice version of the Telecaster. Without having both axes side by side it is impossible to be totally sure. I looked at a picture of a Tele on Guitar Center's website and compared the bolt pattern with my monoprice guitar. They appear identical. Keep in mind Monoprice has a friendly return policy so one can purchase with confidence.
What size fret wire is on this?
    cameron k on Feb 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I can’t tell you precisely but it has the same feel as my model year 2000 Fender Stratocaster American Standard Deluxe or my Ibanez JS2400 (a very atypical wire and neck shape for an Ibanez...again, very Fendery). The Indio is very comfortable to play without any of the sharp or harsh feel that jumbo fretwork can impart. It’s not likely to make the tuning go sharp either up near the nut...I realize this is partly a function of how the nut is cut, but at the same time, jumbo wire contributes to this sensibility unless those slots are cut to a perfect depth.
What body wood is use for this guitar? I already know the top is flame maple. What other woods are used?
    Monica N on Jan 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Indio Retro DLX has a basswood body.
How much does this guitar weigh?
    A shopper on Dec 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Retro DLX weighs about 10.5lbs.
I understand the neck radius is 9.5, what is the thickness of the neck? Is it a modern C, or is it thicker like some necks from the 50's or 60s's
    Patrick P on Oct 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: All of the Indio Electric guitars use a "C" shape neck.
What is the routing in the neck position? Will it accommodate a full sized humbucker?

    Not Bad
I have had this for a couple of weeks now (via Amazon).
Generally I feel it is a great value but there are a few concerns. There is nothing "wrong" with the instrument per se.
    1. Set up out of the box was only "OK". It was close but needed some tweaking. 3 strings had fret buzz and a couple of strings had poor intonation. This was easily resolved within a few minutes.
    2. It came boxed and protected well with sticky film on some of the chrome and the pick guard BUT there were a few greasy paw prints on the neck. I was able to get most of it off with lemon oil and a cloth. Though it is still slightly noticeable.
    3. Strings - They're ok. This is more of a personal preference thing. I'll switch to my preferred brand when they are ready to change. I wouldn't call them "horrible" as some did on the older Monoprice guitars.
    4. Gig bag - Again just ok. I have a cheap 15 year old gig bag form a music store which probably has near twice the padding. The TRIC case for my acoustic puts everything else to shame but hard cases. This gig bad will suffice for protection around the house but I wouldn't use it for travel or gigging.
    5. Finish - it's cool but there are ultra fine swirl marks from finishing. Another round or two of buffing + clear would have made it pop more. Some light polish might help. I wasn't really expecting a show quality piece but was hoping it would be a bit better.

All in all not too bad. Sounds pretty great and should serve well for those times I am looking for a "tele" type sound.

    Indio Retro DLX Flame Top
What a pleasant surprise! I purchased this because I thought that it would be a good starter to then replace the tuners, bridge, pickups and electronics. Set-up was perfect, beautiful finish, nice fret work. Stays in tune, sounds pretty darn good. It's a player as is. I may tweak in in the future, but really no need. The only thing I will do is get a case for it as I'm not a "Gig-Bag" kind of guy.

    Getting there!
Big improvement with the new line. Neck is excellent - pickups aren't bad - and overall set up is decent. Does need some tweaking but very good bang for buck. Recommended! I'd love to see them do this model with a black pickguard and non-ashtray bridge. But overall very nice.

    Sounds Great
I'm impressed, looks great, sounds great, feels great, frets well (smooth as silk).
Gig bag not bad, well padded. Definitely would recommend it.
    Great price point.

A lot of bang for the buck...
The green flame top finish is gorgeous. The parts and the build are solid. The only downside is that it was not setup at all. The sixth string was resting on the fingerboard and was unplayable. I am going to take it a guitar luthier to get it professionally setup. Overall, a great value.

I have a number of Monoprice electric guitars and they have all been excellent. However, this is beyond beautiful. My goodness, you guys have really outdone yourselves. I sense the improvements you have made to your older models fully justify the price increase; which is not that much. What? About forty-dollars more than your older model. It looks like an AT LEAST one hundred-dollar better guitar. Stunning!! I've come to trust Monoprice quality and, I must admit, I am truly excited by your new Indio line of electric guitars.
